Apple is desperate to stay competitive. This is because the 5s has nothing new to offer externally.

The iPhone 5 has Apples own SoC (A6) and Qualcomms discrete LTE modem (MDM9615).
It would not be that much of a stretch to imagine an iPhone 5S with Apples own SoC (A7) and Qualcomms discrete LTE-A modem (MDM9625).

im not an apple fan, i cannot stand them, but not really sure why people are criticizing them for trying to put the chip in, it clearly states that it is a version of the upcoming iphone 5s and it won't be in EVERY Model, it will clearly be for the south korean market (The only world network offering LTE-A) so fair play to them....

Qualcomm currently makes the best, most-powerful and energy-efficient mobile processors in the world (Snapdragon S800) with latest connectivity features, and it would be a very clever move by Apple if they incorporate Qualcomm processors in their upcoming iPhones.

In my country still most people depend on 2.5G, 3G is available only on select places. Operator are trying hard to expand coverage and I think it will take more 2-3 years.

How about the Apple A7 Chip?, Instead Qualcomm Snapdragon is for androids only.. I think the iPon5s Specs is 13Mp Rear, Front 2Mp, A7Chip Quad Core 1Ghz.. If this is Apple specs, i am surely Apply iPon5s is the faster phone 2013 again. Like last yr, iPon5 is faster 2012 Smartphones.

I laughed so hard. Here in germany we got no 3g in the subway. 4g is way too expensive and now they are introducing lte-a?

I think its not realistic for apple to upgrade to LTE-A for now. But possibly in the near future we could see it on iphone 6 maybe.
