Nice starting for a concept. Could use a little improvement later on.
The later editions could develop eye tracking, so that you don't need to use a controller at all. You could just point anywhere on the display and to click, you'll need to wink or make some gesture like forehead move-upside or raising the eyebrow or something like that.

Anonymous, 31 May 2024"There is a 5G model slated to launch in August...&quo... moreThey said it wasn't really a 'phone' presumably because, just like tablets and watches, there are WiFi-only and cellular models. This is probably a similar story. I would imagine you could use the 5G model as a phone. It is probably a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 given the price.

Interesting, but not practical. People are too comfortable to use extra gadgets so this will probably never take off.

"There is a 5G model slated to launch in August..."
I just checked the list of Snapdragon processors. There's no 4G-only version with 4nm fab. All Snapdragon 4nm processor has built-in 5G modem.

However, one of then can only do either host device input or charging the Beam, not both. If you think about it, this is a much better implementation than the normal Beam as you can install any APK apps in it and use it like a normal phone.

The smartphone doesn't target power users for sure
And isn't made to replace your phone anytime soon
So expecting a 6 gen or 4 gen is fine

Even though this still looks like a typical smartphone, the two USB-C ports are a welcome upgrade over the previous Beam. Also, $180/$220 price tag? I highly doubt it'd be the Snapdragon 8 series. The Snapdragon 7 series could be possible, though I doubt 7 Gen 1 or 7+ Gen 2 can fit the bill. For that price, it might be 7s Gen 2 or 6 Gen 1 or 4 Gen 2.

Pricing is fair. What could I have asked for? An AMOLED display. Though this will raise up drastically should it launch globally.

you have to suffer, 31 May 2024HTC Evo 3D Reincarnation.LG Optimus 3D was waaaaaay better. Higher video quality and more noticeable 3D effect.
At least based on GSMArena raw videos from the phones and watched through Quest 2.
Tho the most weird 3D device back then was the T-Mobile G-Slate tablet, which was anaglyph (the red-cyan stuff) 3D back in 2011. It was as weirdly-outdated as it sounds.
Japan had more 3D Android auto-stereoscopic phones than those two. Sharp had several.
