So what does IP69 mean for us, is it completely dust and waterproof?

GSMArena could've added this in the article..?

Anonymous, 02 Jun 2024>flaunt ip rating >void the warranty of phones that ... moreAnd still doing. AndroidAuthority made a blog post about this on Samsung recently. What's the point of long software updates if a repair will costs a lot?

It's why I do TRY to support newer companies who still do meaningful things like putting the charger in the box, balance hardware & software offering for a lower price vs the top brands, and make new phone with meaningful improvement.

Of course there are advantages with going for big brands that even I can't deny but if the value is right, and I'm not losing too much on the important things, something like the Tecno Camon 30 Pro would be my go-to over a Samsung A55, for example.

As for this Oppo in the article, it wouldn't be my first choice as the chipset is slightly below my expectation. Maybe the Pro+ would have a chipset I would consider. Love the leather back, but that camera ring could be thinner.

          >flaunt ip rating
          >void the warranty of phones that got water damaged even submersion was within the specified limits

I love how Samsung did that to us 7 years ago. 🤣

IP69 versus Better SoC than 7050. Price will be on the higher side. Can only wish Oppo good luck

I was interested in these phones. But it seems as though they're coming with curved displays. Ugh... I wish they'd come with good old flat ones like the F25.

You made good points. And, yeah, more and more people here in the south (where I live) are looking more and more at water resistant phones due to how insane rains and flooding have been in recent years due to . . . you know. Other considerations are stronger signal reception capabilities and customer care (which Oppo seems to be delivering on via their link boost and also their extensive service network).

                Also, FYI:
India overtook China this year as the most populous nation.

I'm more surprised that OPPO and other Chinese companies are making a HUGE push within Inida making phones and launching specifically therein.

Although I'm not surprised as India's economy is trending upwards which includes locals spending abilities are growing. Add to that they're THE next billion population just below China.

                  That's not why I'm surprised.
It's the 32 Megapixel Camera for Selfies = way over powered unless specifics in data mining facial specifics to add to China's database as well as the major trade route China has been making government deals from top of Egypt to China that ONLY benefits China.

There is something a LOT bigger going on here : as Dune says feint within a feint.

Not sure who's the target audiance for these devices, as ip69 isn't for mainstream users but then again they are not rugged phones so even those specific users are going to head elsewhere.

Ip69 is a gimmick...just another fake chinese take
