I have been using legal Spotify plan up until they nerfed the plan family to only family members that live under the same roof. It's their own fault that my family now moved to illegal Spotify.

LOL. Shows you who's the greedy one. Paying artists less, charging customers more, and yet moaning to government how they are poor because of Apple.

It's only a problem for fools that buy phones without microsd cards. 😝

Family plan, but I think I'll try to switch to YouTube music altogether; I already have Premium ... But prefered Spotify.
Guess It's a nail in their coffin ... 36 €/US per year on top is not great, that's nearly a 20% increase 🤯

It's just laziness. The way to raise quarterly and yearly earnings, bump up prices. Spotify app still has glitches and has bugs and has become very bloated.

[deleted post]You may be right. Nowadays even windows 11 media player is great. Just enable equalizer and set to bass boost.

And this is why streaming services will always be inferior to actually owning media. You don't own anything, you're just being allowed to use the service, it's fine when it's cheap but when the company has gained most of the market share and has a stable income source, they're bound to jack prices up and they'll keep going up because for a huge number of people, Spotify is their only source for music. Same can be said about Netflix. We're living in the darkest timeline fr, each new news makes it seem like we're going into the 1984 world further.

                        [deleted post]I am also outdated

I still use winamp with podcast music stations that are all free. The new winamp app just needs account and the deem thing always logs you out for what ever reason and the login is only needed for the radio podcast and maybe some other reasons.

Apple Music better now that they're similar price. You get Dolby Atmos, Lossless Audio, Spatial Audio for those AirPod users and much more.

You can also go the APK route, ifykyk

Who cares. I have local music files. No any pay. And you can edit them if you want. Just don't upload and you are fine. Otherwise vpn is an option too.
