The thing about Apple is that they have a separate ecosystem for the iPhone and the iPad with their own set of apps for each platform. Android only has one set of apps that work on both phone and tablet mode.
Apple has to decide whether to enable iPad mode in its inner display in which case the device may require two binaries to be installed for each app, one for iPhone and the other for the iPad, which will eat into the storage that Apple charges excessively for.
Otherwise, Apple will have to develop a separate tablet mode for iOS use in the inner display but why do that when they already have a tailored OS for tablets in iPadOS. I guess Apple is still trying to work whether the inner display will use iOS or iPadOS.

There is actually no comparison when we talk usefull and feature rich OSs vs OSs for D&D.

My opinion :- Regretting buying iphone 13 pro max except for the cameras and long battery use on single charge. Missing some features i use the most on android. I will probably never buy apple products. They are good but they lock you into their ecosystem. Im not happy. I also have an ipad apple watch and have used MacBook air.
Apple watch terrible battery life. Airpods not comfortable and they are trash after a year. Ipad is ok but the price ladder for getting higher storage is very bad.

So why not enjoy a folding or flip, while you wait for the next 3 years more? After 3 years, the software may be so lacking that you might need to wait 5 more years for them to come up with new "features" so to fully enjoy the device?

Foldable phones are durable and successful only if actual glass can bend 0 to 180 degree. UTG is basically useless under the touchscreen.
