Infinix is selling this for $1150 with 6gb,yes 6gb ram, what a joke

The only thing I find inadequate is the 300 nit display. If they claim 300 nits, then the real peak brightness would be around 270-280 nits. That's enough for indoor gaming with the blinds closed. But in bright environments like near a big window during the day where the screen is facing the window, let alone outside in the sun, it'll be quite hard to see.

They should either give spare ram slots or have unsoldered ram on the motherboard.

We need to have a phone style spec sheet for laptops too, GSMArena.

seems too good to be true with this price range

Surprised that CyberPunk 2077 ran that well with a 3050. 55fps is nothing to sneeze at for a 700 USD laptop. Alan Wake 2 runs just below 30fps which is serviceable but not useable.

Every other game runs quite well or too good for a 3050 and a 12th gen laptop i5! What's even better is that these score can get better since DLSS is off. You can also turn on FSR-3 which does work for a NVIDIA graphics card. Unplugged (~25W) reaching ~45fps average is also good for Tomb Raider. You can also disable the 3050 and use the iGPU within the 12450H.

Buying the base 12450H/3050 model is pretty good, just upgrade that SSD to a WD SN770 or 850X 1TB. Or go for a cheap Kingston/Silicon Power 2TB. Just stick in a Gen 4 drive and you'll be fine. Gen 5 is quite expensive, and RAM is soldered, since it's LPDDR5X, which makes sense; it uses less power!

With the dGPU, you can get 5 hours with basic tasks. With the iGPU, about 6 or even 7 hours.
With gaming, you can get 2.5hrs tops.

                            wow, i5 12450H and RTX 3050 in June 2024...

rizki1, 05 Jun 2024The specs are amazing for the price.. And look at how bad t... moreThat's not a surprise since both of those games, along with Hellblade II, are the only ones benchmarked in this review that are current gen exclusive titles while the rest are cross gen. They are using modern engines with vastly more complex visual design. However, they are also designed with image upscaling in mind and run a lot better when DLSS is enabled, which had to be disabled for the sake of this review.

The specs are amazing for the price.. And look at how bad the games Alan Wake 2 and The Last of Us are, even the 80W GPU can't run smoother than other games.

Looks like an ok gaming laptop for the price. Not good, not bad. However I feel like Infinix could've cooked a different setup.
