Sony did such an outstanding job with the WH-1000XM series that they sorta shot themselves in the foot. I'm still with a pair of XM3's after around 5 years with them. Replaced the ear cups ONCE like 6 months ago, and they're still perfect in every way possible. Unless the XM6's are a mindblowing upgrade in sound quality and noise cancellation, I see no reason to stay another 5 years with them.

Sony always sounds incredible. But if you want lower sound quality with monster bass you should go for Skullcandy.

I’ve had the Sony WH-1000xM5 headphones for a little over a year. I was very impressed by these headphones. Until about 3 months ago for no reason the right speaker just stopped working. I have taken very good care of these headphones. They’ve never been outdoors since I got them. I contacted Sony they said the headphones were out of warranty and if I wanted to have them repaired it would cost me. I would’ve expected better support from them. Also would’ve expected a better product from this company. Being that these headphones were so expensive and highly rated. For them to just stop working a little after the warranty expired. I’m very disappointed in these headphones. Also disappointed in the support from the company itself. This has been on ongoing issue with these headphones. Would’ve expected a better product from this company.

Never again Sony , stop updates after a year or so and the issues they had ,you were stuck with.

I hope they improve the sound quality, subpar for the price range, and the build quality, which has been a problem for years ( one cup falling apart ).

I'm so glad they arent dropping the Linkbuds open design.
First gen achilles heel was that terrible battery life. Everything else was good.
