Corning thought it's time so let's rebrand the GG5 and call it 7i.

not sure what version of gorila glass use at any phone right now . Sony phone glass always look tougher ,shinier and solid compare to other brand.Even a 4 year old Xperia still remain rock solid hold in hand.

Best glass ever made was by Motorola and was called Shatterproof glass.
Last phone which had it was Z2 force by Motorola.
It was most dorable glass a phone could have.
Only better made by Vertu (Pure 100% Shapphire screens)
and then MagLew trains, spacecrafts and some planes reaching the soundbarrier have better glass but that cant be used for a phone.
And the another exception is a glass on a USA president Limousine.

Why launch GG7i when a ton of midrangers come with GG Victus (or Victus+ in the case of the Galaxy A55, or even Victus 2 in the case of the OnePlus 12R and Realme GT6T?

Wait, now we have flagships and midrangers for glasses too?
It's not even display, just glass.

i is for "it's actually a rebrand". Some schmuck from some brand realized it's not good marketing to have phones with such "low" GG number so they asked Corning™ for a workaround

Now, even this company made separate categories for flagships and for midrange/budget devices. C'mon, it is a glass, not some top secret tech. Very awful trend from companies. We still put protective glass, so basically useless company. Plus, is not even close to Huawei Kunlun glass, even if they say opposite.

Probably just victus rebranded to sell at a lower price point. Remember there's victus 2 and GG amor glass for higher segments.

Since Victus is a disaster when it comes to scratches, let's see how this goes. My Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G already have some mild scratches and is not even six months old. I never drop my phone so scratching resistance is what I need. I hate screen protectors.

Anonymous, 04 Jun 2024Motorola still will be using the 3 on G series forever. ... moreit's the best generation!! after this, these super resistant glass get scratched even with your finger nails and not to mention they break very easily.
