Motorola unveils Edge (2024) for the US with SD 7s Gen 2, 6.6" 144Hz OLED display

04 June 2024
This is similar to the Edge50 Fusion for other markets, but it has several advantages over it - a higher refresh rate and wireless charging.

Why choose 1 year old rehash of 2 year old snapdragon 6 over dimensity 7200?

in the US, just buy a Thinkphone, 8+ gen 1, ufs 3.1, and no curved screen.

In Latin America, when we talk about 1000 dollars for a phone, we all know which 2 brands come to light, one is coreana and the other is a bitten apple.

Shame they can't actually provide the software updates they promise.

You guys don't get it. This phone is $550 but no one will pay that. All the carriers will have "sign up for service and get this phone for $150" deals and Amazon and Best Buy will regularly have huge sale

In my country, for instance, they don't even sell the Pro/Ultra models since the Edge 20 Pro, but you see lots of Moto G54, G84 and Edge 40 Neo.

Pixel 8/7 pro can be purchased for that money in the US. Weak soc for the price.

What an awful price for the US. For the price they should have brought the Edge 50 Pro, which sells in most LATAM markets for that price already, or if they wanted to bring the Fusion model, they could just price it at $350, which sound fair. Expecting it on sale after a week of launch.

Awful chip for 550$. Please offer an Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC.

They don't push people to keep them, so it's positive.

Concerning the operating system, Hello OS is really good, I prefer use my G54 on Android 13 instead my A54 on Android 14 because it has better performances despite slower SOC but really good network, really good battery life and much more stable. Motorola provides really good phones!

I wonder how the cameras are compared to the motorola edge 30 fusion. I see it has auto focus on the selfie cam unlike the 50 fusion.

$550 for what is essentially a glorified Snapdragon 6 Gen 1? I'm not convinced. That USB-C 3.1 and Ready For support better be real.
