It shows off the refined designs of both models - though you have to look closely to see the differences.

Wow. Apple and Samsung are two sides of the same coin. They stick with one design for like 4 to 5 gens lol. Glad I went with other brands this year

Before anything at all, consider in July and shipping in August will be close to 1 yr between Fold 5 and Fold 6.

Now, co sider SD 8 Gen 4launches in September and ships in the earliest and deepest pockets for 30 days, ans comes with incredible AI & GPU power - even if GPU fully utilized to uts potential for more than an hour will equal or lesson the battery efficiency at 4hrs full load of the 8 Gen 3.

For ANY premium range cost and for sales to be relatively maintained past January 2025 (all co.petition will ship woth 8 Gen 4 - Oppo/One+ collaborative foldable will) ... Samsung should've waited production at least 3 months to acquire and fine tune theie chipset board and internal components for best efficiency and cooling.

Next HW component in any dream or wish list should be about battery capacity and true rapid charging. I mean 5500mAh and 80W wired + 45W wireless charging at bare minimum I'm sure any tech fan would accept as reasonable considering what FEELS like an eternity and a cluster-F! of charging and battery stagnation at Samsung!

I'm beginning to THINK there is some USA Gov, allies and airline strangle hold for the last 5yrs and ongoing towards Samsung shuffling them behind the competition. Samsung is or was one ot rhr top teir battery makers for any portable electronics for years UP UNTIL the Galaxy Note 10 started randomly exploding on Airplanes. Tables during meetings, in people's pockets and hands leading to both many HUGE lawsuits as well as ban of carrying on ANY international flight or all flights (USA had such a ban for any Samsung phone above a certain capacity).

I love the idea of an Aramid back!
I have a very premium case made of only that from Pitaka: and it's pure quality in both feel, svelte deign and VERY surprisingly protection WITHOUT bulk!

However maybe the hinge can be made of it - extremely low cost and yet rigid - on direct level falls to the hinge wouldn't matter cause any 3mm protrusion of a titanium outer frame of the back and front (area where they meet when inner display is fully open but separated when inner display is closed) would protect that type of impact.

Inner frames can be replaced with Aramid - water runs off of it very quickly any moisture wisks off. Dust can sit yet easily disks off with any breeze of air.

Most importantly it can be weaved just like carbon Fibre hence very similar appearance. Slight flex is Aramid fibers advantage! Slight impact absorption thus energy evenly dispursrd less target point inflection of impact.

Did you read what you typed before hitting post?

Y is it so many members ans commenter's on this site so co sisterly contradict theie ownselves so repeatedly?!

1 too many complain Samsung isn't constantly changing their designs of theie phones.
2 THEN wish for a top teir phone to have many of the same physical design or design queues of older models OR Lower teir models ....

3 THEN when doing so - they literary complaining reverse order!

                  Examples:
                  Curved screens : Flat
Camera bulge looks great (s21/s22) as it protected the cameras then to hating it : S23 flat back & screen barely ANY camera lens protrusion!

BTW you contradicted yourself thrice in your post, just saying.

Understand this: The Z Fold series is STILL targeted to the tech enthusiast Secondly and the upper echelon of white collar workers/entrepreneurs that frequently travel and NEED a powerful, versatile, and premium device as it'll have to handle a few dropa shakes ans rustling between unkind objects.

Samsung is away holding the device is JUST as important to the user, as it is to them [great classic design ushers consistent sales until the next year]. Samsung ia also cognizant that build quality over drastic designs is paramount to both them, and the end user [flat or flush level backs to the camera lenses WILL 💯 lead to endless repair costs and not of the camera but the back shielding glass Wireless charging coil replacements etc! They are NOT dumb! And they've had the highest profits and sales globally in 1 yr vs the entire industry!!]

PlatWraith, 05 Jun 2024I thought it copies iPhone 13 wallpaper?. iOS 14 looks even closer to that.

                          Sigh.... another skip,pass, and fail.

The internal display is still inferior and posts occurr too frequently about it becoming damaged.

They still haven't made use of the hinge space to make it the perfect S-Pen "spine (3/4 carved in, magnetic charging think a round cylinder, 3/4 built in spine of device, 1/4 on the groove of the unique S-Pen). When closed it rests like a book. Push to eject, spine opens flat. Larger, thicker, more comfortable S-Pen.

Display needs to be 99% regular glass, and only 1% or leds use the current flexible material for where it folds.

Until they offer the same confidence of regular glass, no plastic "Screen protector" , I don't see the ever taking off. It's more of a theoretical conce they have yet to perfect

changejo, 05 Jun 2024Changes needed. 1. Cheaper chipset variant, Snapdragon 4 2.... moreNo, they should use dimensity 7300x, not snapdragon 4 series. 4 gen x series has been rehashes of snapdragon 695, not it that wasn't efficient chipset but it's getting old now.

A.C, 05 Jun 2024The changes you suggest seem reasonable, but 24GB of RAM + ... moreI finally calculated the measurements (with lots of help from ChatGPT, so potentially be warned!), so here's an even more updated version of what I think should've been the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6:

A.C, 05 Jun 2024The changes you suggest seem reasonable, but 24GB of RAM + ... moreOk, I'll admit that 24GB of RAM is unrealistic. That could be its own SKU, 2TB UFS 4.0 + 24GB LPDDR5X RAM, maybe for $2000? The back needs to be built from something stronger than glass, especially since it's really hard to design cases for foldables, so the percentage of foldable phone owners who go without cases are higher, especially once you factor in the physical bulk added on a device that is thicker than other phones.

My personal opinion is that if people feel the need to get cases or screen protectors for their phone, then the phone's durability is not good enough, and phones' backs should absolutely not be made out of glass due to its terrible durability. Xiaomi used a composite material formed from ceramic and aramid fibres for a special version of their Xiaomi Mix Fold 3, and it is an amazing material that should be used everywhere. Allows for wireless charging, is very strong (much much stronger than glass!), and still looks and feels very premium.

Again, for the 1440p screens, I'll admit that it's overkill, but since Samsung isn't entertaining the idea of non-standard screen resolutions for the outer screen, and I absolutely want at least 460PPI, I thought that screen resolution uniformity across both screens would be great as well.
