iQOO 13 might be so good that it makes the iQOO 13 Pro redundant

05 June 2024
A new rumor implies we may only see one iQOO flagship later this year.

We need flagman with IPS display with no PWM

CargoJoe, 06 Jun 2024Good. No curves too. The era of the Kardashians is out! Thin is in!

If it's true and if it continues down the "iQOO N" lineup (like, to iQOO 16 at least), then it sounds really good.

Eudaemon., 06 Jun 2024Ultrasonic means the fp sensor will be near/below the middl... moreYes, it seems like that's how BBK does ultrasonic fp scanners. The one on my X90 Pro+ is a little higher up and it's a relatively large sensor overall so it's really responsive/easy to unlock. Barely anyone uses this specific fp scanner, which is really unfortunate because it's maybe about 95% as reliable as physical ones are.

YUKI93, 06 Jun 2024There's literally no reason for any modern smartphones... moreyeah it's absolutely crazy most likely the internal MB only supports 3.0 like Intel's Skylake and beyond so they're just doing it for the sake of saving 1 cent per phone.

The "regular" flat screen Iqoo has always been prefered by almost everyone, at least where Im from. No one would even care if they cancelled the Pro version

YUKI93, 06 Jun 2024It's still possible to cost the same as the current iQ... moreNot sure where you're getting your prices from. In China at least the base model with 12gb 256gb storage of the IQOO 12 launched in China for 3,999rmb, which was the exact same as the Vivo x100 which also launched at 3,999rmb for the same storage. The IQOO 12 though was cheaper than the Vivo x100 for 512gb of storage. The IQOO 12 pro launched at 4,999rmb for 12gb 256gb so it's quite a bit more expensive than the standard. In fact the IQOO 12 pro launched at exactly the same price as the Vivo x100 pro.

yemko, 06 Jun 2024...and with USB 2.0There's literally no reason for any modern smartphones with flagship mobile SoC to keep using USB-C 2.0 anymore. Even modern upper-midrange mobile SoC can be on par with modern x86 CPU. At this point, the only reason smartphone OEM doesn't put USB-C 3.1/3.2 with wired video output support on their smartphones is because they don't want to hurt or disrupt their Android tablet sales and the whole brand "ecosystem".

Which means it's no longer going to be as cheap as the current iqoo 12 is. Hard pass then, better buy one of the Vivo x-pro series or the Xiaomi series.

Why bother making a "Pro" version when the only difference would be faster charging and more RAM? Those aren't "Pro" features. My idea of "Pro" features would be something like first-party video recording/editing app (like Sony's Cinema Pro and Video Pro app) and first-party Desktop Mode (like Samsung's DeX or Motorola's Ready For). Those are real pro-grade features that makes great use out of the smartphone's absurdly overkill computing power.

                            Good. No curves too.

Ultrasonic means the fp sensor will be near/below the middle of the screen (thumb easier to reach) instead of near the bottom?
