Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 tested by the FCC, lack Wi-Fi 7

06 June 2024
The lab only tested Wi-Fi 6 (ax), so it looks like the latest Wi-Fi standard will not be supported.

The S24 Ultra has WiFi 7 so this makes zero sense.

Not having a Wi-Fi 7 router _now_ isn't the issue, the issue is that many people will keep these phones for a least several years - and by that point they might have new routers.

For what it's worth, I'm still using a Wi-Fi 5 router at home, so I get that not upgrading the router often isn't a big deal. But I have been looking forward to getting a Wi-Fi 7 one soon-ish.

Not a big deal as not many people HAVE WiFi 7 routers let along other devices in North America.

Sure a LOT of devices NOW support it but HOW many people OWN routers and find public WiFi 7 accessible and setup?! Not much at all YET!

Again. Another meaningless feature for the spec chasers to get worked up about. Nobody cared about wifi 1-5. Now, it's an issue? Get me a bigger battery like the Vivo. That is a meaningful upgrade that actually matters.

Normally I wouldn't care, since Wi-Fi 7 is not really worth it right now, but since the S24 Ultra supports it, this is just really stupid. It shows that Samsung doesn't actually put enough care into their products.
