Had a 620 for a couple of weeks and could not take it anymore. It would freeze just answering calls, even the lock screen freezes in this half baked excuse for a mobile platform. - Take a full back up and hard reset your phone by going to settings-about-reset,after reset before you do anything, goto settings-phone update-check for updates and apply updates if any.
Constant "resuming" screens - Since WP utilizes pseudo multitasking those resume screens are going to be there. But MS has added the option to fast resume which is neglected by the developers
a lack of popular apps - Apps will come with time. WP8 is year old so have patience, can you mention some you are missing?
a useless notification center that hides away in the abyss - Yes its a real let down, not having one, but all my apps that give me notification are pinned to homescreen, I hardly miss any chats, messages or mails
hideous facebook app - Blame facebook for not making a good one.
not to mention watsapp which freezes upon opening new messages - Again blame the developer for not updating their apps to use recent updates, whatsapp still using that outdated sound api. In case of freezes just use the stop music app and launch your whatsapp again

I mean come on if you really meant to try it out you would have at least tried to read about it in forums and noticed that you maybe had a bad unit and made a swap. Whazapp freezing has more to the with the app than the Os. I have been using the l920 for the last 6 months + and there are somethings i noticed:
1. If calls you and you don't pick it until the phone stops ringing, if you try to unlock the phone while the screen if about the fadeout, you would be able to unlock it but the phone wouldn't work properly until you relock and unlock it.
2. My phone only had a total freeze once, don't really know why that happened.
3. Reboot issues are caused by some apps, i haven't had any reboot issues for the last 4 months.
4. Others folder, very bad bug but with the Nokis storage check i have been able to keep it under 1.8gb.

IOS and Android are far superior platforms.

I would love to try a windows phone and especially this device but what's wrong with that vessel? You could have 0,5 bigger screen with that footprint! If this is true I will wait for Sony honami. If that fails also I will just have to wait fpr s4 with 64gb

About the apps, well we got what we need for now. In Android I dont need 1000 wallpapers themes or 100s variants of agry birds games. I find more unwanted/unneeded material on Android than on WP or iOS.

On topic i won't be getting this phone if it doesn't at least have snapdragon 800 and a 5inch screen, 32gb storage, maybe 2g ram, maybe 2500mA battery. I don't care about screen resolution but i would be nice to have a 1080p screen. If all these conditions are met then i won't hesitate paying 700 euros for the phone.

The 1020 will be an excellent piece of hardware. Actually an update of the 925 but with more goodies like EOS. Nokia is getting better phones, but I really wait for the Lumia 1080, that will be an killer phone!!!

The screen size of the nokia lumia 1080p will be around 4.5 to 5.0 inch, having a full HD resolution (1920*1080 pixel).
Nokia 1080 will have 1.5 GHz Quad Core with 2Gb RAM, the performance is quite good with such specs and works fast and efficiently. The battery life will be quite amazing we are expecting it to be around 2200 mAh. Will kill others battery specs and endurance time.
