It's not a mid ranger if it's using a Snapdragon 4 series SoC. It's an entry level phone with a midrange price.

Even the front display render is all wrong. Blurry icons, misaligned clock, etc. I swear people don't even try anymore

Unfortunately HMD has no USP. They are developing generic Android phones with no stand out features. They could offer smaller more compact smartphones or the opposite offer huge phablets with a more traditional aspect ratio (something like the Huawei Mate 20X). They could also chose not to use any punch hole or notch but instead go Sony's design route or go for under display selfie cam.
Without their own characteristics HMD will fail to sell enough smartphones to stay alive.
