Part of the reason for the existence of Tizen is deterrent to Google to not make any erratic ill-conceived moves with Android such as charging for it or restricting its use.

Anonymous, 05 Jul 2013Glad you know everything about an entire OS from a little leak. For your information, i worked in Tizen project in the past and i know how it is, since i have used it. Tizen OS is nowhere near the competition and it would be abandoned by Samsung when they will find out that the sales are very low. Sailfish OS is the best amongst Firefox, Ubuntu, Tizen etc. The end.

Tizen OS has nothing innovative to come up with and the UI is very much ugly and due to all those things, it's going to be a failure even if it's released. Jolla have created a beautiful OS by the name Sailfish OS and the apps are getting developed these days, it has the potential to capture the market and influence Android, iOS, Windows and BV10 OS sales. Samsung should completely abandon Tizen protect and join Sailfish bandwagon if the really wanna have a third OS which will be competitive enough and hold the capabilities to dominate Android.

It's clear now Samsung needs Android, which means it needs Google. But Google is the parent of Motorola. So, Samsung is going down too

They could adopt it, but if they hate Nokia, then that's one other OS down for them to consider.

AnonD-162100, 05 Jul 2013I think Samsung should adopt Sailfish :)What a great idea! I don't think Samsung will adopt Sailfish OS as the firm has Android and Windows already and are thinking of launching Tizen OS devices but if they adopt Sailfish OS then they would make it the best OS,
