It feels like I have seen similar design of calculator on some android device few yrs back (maybe 2-3 yrs). Can't remember exactly which device but its calculator looked similar to this.

And even if they needed all this time to get to a calculator app with the right "feel", I think everyone would have appreciated a simple native calculator app over the last 6-7 years that could have evolved to this one that feel in line with what Apple offers!
