..., 05 Jul 20133 gb ram is overkill no one will run even close to much app... more3GB (even 4GB) is just fine since cost of technology goes down very quickly. Besides, the Note series is meant to last longer with its owner than the regular models. Anyone with a Note II today (a 1 year old design) will still find it quite decent to use today and can hold off for another 6 months to a year (if he needs to stretch his dollar - he'll probably have to root it with lighter ROM though). SO, 3GB isn't a bad thing. It's perfect!

..., 05 Jul 20133 gb ram is overkill no one will run even close to much app... moreoverkill? nowadays apps suck more ram than apps at the beginning of android. Few years ago people would say that 2gb of ram was overkill. If you check a phone's ram with 2gb you'll probably have less than 1gb free. So I do think 3gb is necessary because probably next years apps will be more ram consuming. Rather be prepared than be short.

Who says Samsung does not invent? We got a totally original screen size. I like note. Every time they surprise us with a new screen size that is totally unpredictable. I can't wait for the world to start prediting the brand new screen size of note 4. My own guess is 5.74. I know, it is a long shot.

We need to start exploring the 2nd digit after the decimal to remain original in screen size.

Nick , 05 Jul 2013Sony going for quality ans Samsung go for quantity. Hona... moreMarketing is exam and this selling number are marks from which it is calculated who is winner and who is looser.

After 2 months using the Galaxy Note 8.0, a bigger screen than the 5.5" Note II is actually nice with an S Pen for drawing and reading. I love it, but not so easy to carry or impossible to pocket. I had the Note I before, and I could just carry it to work in my top shirt pocket or in my jeans.

I saw the Galaxy Mega 6.3", and it'll be sticking out of my covered top shirt pocket! Prime target for snatchers. I can't possibly fit it in my front jeans pocket. The idea of a 5.7" thinner Note III with the same Note II size factor is fantastic!

The active Wacom "S Pen" digitizer with at least 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity offers the best possible tool for digital sketching. It has proven to be useful for my architectural designing process with Layer Paint, Sketchbook Pro, Adobe Photoshop Touch and Sketchbook Ink. The S Pen gives me dynamic control for thin-thick line and airbrushing. A capacitive input with a finger or a "pencil" like on the surface of the XZ Ultra can't replicate an active pen input.

Anonymous, 05 Jul 2013Get your facts right. Sony's using Ne. Tech for the screen ... moreReally? The Z ultra doesn't have bad viewing angles and is washed out?

Did you look at the pics in the preview?

Its better than the Sony Z (which is terrible) but its still not close to the one, note 2 or or sgs4.

I think the Sony Z Ultra has missed the mark because its not comfortably pocketable because of the massive bezels.

Nick , 05 Jul 2013Sony going for quality ans Samsung go for quantity. Hona... moreSamsung is number one because they're making all spectrum of smartphone makes to cater for all. Samsung provides the most versatile devices and are very reliable.

For example, Sony's current direction is to make thinner waterproofed devices, which sacrifices battery stamina and unchangeable battery units, making their product limited and less reliable. They are mainly batting for the best looking device without proper soul and physical ergonomics (look at those corners!).

And from personal preference, I like current physical size of Note II. I hope III will be about the same (it can be thinner and lighter) with current hardware on it (bigger battery, better cpu/gpu, more internal rom, more ram, bigger camera etc).
