Motorola launches Edge 50 Ultra in India

3 things to consider here:
1. IP68 rating. Costs a pretty penny for that certification.
2. USB 3.x vs USB 2.0. Faster data transfer and of course, a little more expensive.
3. Way faster charging and a bigger charging brick (125W vs 67W).
I think moto priced it pretty well. DIssapointing to see no 8 Gen 3 phone from them though.
Of course the real king of value is Poco F6. Nothing beats that on price.

The hardware is surely worth the extra 5k if buying both with the offers

512GB of Moto Edge 50 Ultra is 55K with offers after the pre order/early bird. And 60k without offers. Only during the pre order/ early bird the pricing is worth buying. After that its way too over priced. You can actually get 512GB Iqoo 12 for 54K with offers most of the time. Previous generation Flagships with 8 Gen 2 are mostly available for less.

The post says that its in a single variant of 1TB, but thats not the case. Flipkart shows the 512GB variant. It would've been better if they release the 1TB variant too. Hopefully they do release it by Sept to Nov just in time for the big billion day sale on flipkart.

The Civi is 43k versus 50k for this with the cashback. For that you get much better camera hardware on all rear cameras sensors. Same main camera and ultrawide as the Xiaomi 14, and a far better periscope lens with OIS compared to a 2x telephoto with a relatively poor sensosor and no OIS in the Civi. Also you get much faster wired charging (125W), 50w wireless charging, usb3.1 and really good speakers. Also comes with 512gb storage. For 512gb with the Civi it costs 48k so basically based on the initial deal anyway you get quite a lot more for that extra 2k

(Using an in sensor crop of the main camera gives better results than the actual "telephoto that even lacks the most important thing for a telephoto, OIS).
The 50U has a Telephoto in the pericope territory with OIS.

Good phone but veryy expensive... If those 50 series drop in price in the next few months they'll become amazing options. Right now competition is too strong for those amounts of money.

Price not right. Processor gone wrong. Edge 30 Ultra had 8+ Gen 1, 40 Ultra had 8 Gen 2 ; all having 8K Support. So, Not worthy of being 'Ultra' whilst it's just a ' Pro+/Pro Max ' & no 8K support, no thank you. If this device would have been launched for INR 42999 then it would have been a quite a deal.

Iqoo 12 is a better option than this in the price range. Iqoo 12 has 8 Gen 3, bigger battery, same rear cameras, flat screen design.
OnePlus 12 is also available at just a bit higher price.
Oneplus 11 with 8 Gen 2 is available for far less.
Infact recently launched Xiaomi 14 Civi with 8s Gen 3 is a far better deal for the price than this. Its a smaller lighter phone, has better dual front camera, rear camera system is also very competitive with this phone. While the price is way lower than moto.

Perfect phone for people who want to see their pores in 4k selfies and also go for underwater photoshoots with proven and tested ip68.

8sgen3 for 60k for Moto instead can purchase 8 gen 3 OnePlus 12 with better specs and better battery

No gorilla glass, lower water resistance, worse software experience full of bloatware, no wireless charging, and more. Moto edge 50 ultra is a better phone for a little more money. But then the OnePlus 12 cost about the same as it after discounts so there's that too.
