I don't know it just me or what? I have the samsung i7110 for 2 week and find out there are a problem. It seem like every time the signal strength change the dime light come on from the off mode. So the screen keep blink every time the signal strength change. Is this just my phone or a stupid design from Samsung?

err.... I was at the symbian show, and touched the phone...
I thought I never saw it before, but as I didn't go listen to all them talks, i never heard the announcement...

if only I knew how new it was, I would have checked it properly...
well all I can say for now is, it didn't catch my eyes...

as soon as i saw the gel pad, I thought "Nope".
didn't like it on the i780, but at least that was a touch phone...
      this one's not...

According to some sources it has AMOLED and Not OLED. Not sure which one is correct.

GPS works on pedestrian and driving modes. Cheers

LED flash, come on man yea ok its Dual LED good for video and all that crap everyones heard a million times, but WTF man why make one or two Xenon Flash phones when the Main all in ones don have it? a Huge reason people went for N82 was cause of Xenon and N82's Xenon was amazing it was even better than k850i

looks great, plus the OLED screen is sure to "wow" people. However, it doesn't seem like samsung added a standard 3.5mm headphone jack in there. When will phone company's learn?

Using Route 66 provides an interesting solution for those who want a Symbian phone without having to use Nokia Maps...

...smart move by Samsung and will sow confusion among the Nokia fanbois seeking an update to the 6110 Navigator.

I like the form factor. But I have to say the lack of a lens cover for that great camera is a minor letdown. I was one of those people who always ways said "who cares if there's no lens cover". Then I picked up my N95 and I said damn. It's not a deal breaker for me personally but given what I know will happen, it's a bit of a letdown.

This phone is quite impressive. But the 125 grams (Read: Hefty Weight) is a real downer. The lack of lens cover is a shame.
Although I've got to admit that I will love to own a phone with accents of metal and has a full-fledged smartphone blood, I will still set that anticipation aside if the price of the metallic materials will be the weight. And besides that, I will probably go for the Nokia N79 as a replacement for my Nokia N82 because the NSeries blood seems better for me because it has something to do with usability, comfortability and compatibility and I guess that's the serious advantage of Nokia S60 Smartphones over the Samsung S60 Smartphones.

N79(NSeries in its vein) has the advantage of usability and comfortability because of the 3D rotating NSeries gallery which is the most comfortable gallery application that I have used so far. I mean, it somewhat tells you to go for more pictures as long as your memory can hold and you can't even think of limitting your files because you will for sure be too lazy on browsing over them on a poor gallery orientation and for me, it really makes a difference.

Then another serious N79 advantage is that, again Nokia NSeries in its vein,it provides wider compatibility on currently developed softwares built around the S60 3rd ed FP2 platform (let alone the NGage games which is reportedly not compatible with any existing Samsung Smartphones). Samsung knew that incompatibility issues or something like that. That's why when Samsung is set to launch a counterpart to Nokia's solution, they often house it in a more sturdy and better build quality than Nokia's because it's obvious that lately, the NSeries makes full use of plastic and Samsung took advantage of that idea and offers a counterpart which makes full use of metal and provides some juicy finishing touches on the specifications sheet to win the buyers. For example, the Samsung i7110's camera features face, smile and blink detection which the N79 all lacks. That way, some features like that might be reasons for some potential buyers to go for the i7110 instead of N79.

I don't know but these things really matters most as it all boils down to users' preferences. Still Samsung i7110 is a nice phone.
