YourLocalPhoneCritic, 26 Jun 2024How ignorant of you to say that... now that they can use AI... moreHah two Truman Show references in quick succession. Got ninja'd.

Not like any of this matters to braggart "clean as a whistle" exhibitionists anyway. Average Joe who isn't born with generational wealth struggles to maintain a good credit score...how are they possibly going to understand that once the veil of internet anonymity is pierced and EVERY slur, every site click, every download, every e-retail purchase, every search query, every personal message they have EVER posted online comes tumbling out and brands them for life by through secret profile scores the megacorps have created for them without their permission? And all of the ongoing spying+profiling is gonna hit the stratosphere once the new gen AI starts collating personalized data points on a per-person basis directly on the devices, something which the AI right now is wickedly efficient at doing.

For the clueless, Ignorance = Bliss.

YourLocalPhoneCritic, 26 Jun 2024They'll make it impossible for people to turn off AI..... moreYea, I'm down. Where do I sign in if I'm getting paid for that? Honestly, nobody gives an f what weird sh*t you are watching, searching, etc. You are either a criminal or just an ill individual if you believe that you will be impacted by some hidden social credit system (if there was such).

fasosl, 26 Jun 2024You're not special James Bond, no brand cares about yo... moreYikes! WTG flaunting a complete lack of self respect. My data, whether its a pic of my old dog or a prescription for foot cream, is my own damn business.
Other people might have more valuable stuff on their devices, a boring person like me might have much less. But I am not in the habit of throwing my doors open and letting power-drunk perverts Truman Show my life up for their pleasure and gains. If others do not value their own boring, yet private data, then that's their problem and honestly their loss.

Also, for the parrots who keep repeating "YoU cAn ShUt It OFFFFFFffFF!"...Microsoft would like to have a word with you poor marks. Do yourself a favour and read up on what they JUST made an opt-in instead of a opt-out in just the past couple of days, and the majority of non-tech savvy (zoomers, boomers and everyone in between) will have no clue on how to "just turn things off" the way things are currently going.

YourLocalPhoneCritic, 26 Jun 2024They'll make it impossible for people to turn off AI..... moreman of culture I see...

fasosl, 26 Jun 2024You're not special James Bond, no brand cares about yo... moreHow ignorant of you to say that... now that they can use AI to automate the process of moderation, they'll try to profile individuals into categories & use that in conjunction with a hidden social credit system that could affect your life going forward.

Just because there's nothing you want to hide, doesn't mean that you shouldn't care about your privacy. Would you be okay partaking in the Trueman show & have your entire life being broadcasted to strangers? You seem to be of the variety that would say yes to that because "well, I've got nothing to hide. I'm an open book."

Anonymous, 26 Jun 2024And that is why you can turn it off and ignore forever. They'll make it impossible for people to turn off AI... They'll bake it into every app. I just saw YouTube comment summaries & there is no way to turn that off.

Maybe we need legislation that forces these companies to have a toggle that turns off any AI-assisted feature that is not on-device & or involves personal data.

It's important to note that regardless of whether or not AI is on-device, it's not guaranteed that your info won't be shared with a third party. (Apple's AI is on-device, yet it asks for your consent to send stuff to OpenAI. That defeats the point because many people will mistakenly consent to it)

This is why I'm glad my phone isn't receiving any of this AI crap. I'm proud to turn off Siri/Cortana/GAssistant/Gemini/Alexa/Bixby & more from all my devices. I've also switched to Linux (SteamOS), I couldn't be happier though sometimes I have to use a disposable virtual machine to emulate windows programs. (This is how you know I watch Mutahar)
