        This price is not competitive at all at this point of time, since Redmi K70 Pro with the same 8G3 chipset and a better 1440P display costs 700CNY less for 12+256 model and almost 1000CNY less for 24+1T model. This phone is only recommended with a huge discount.

          Aside from the ugly design and the Oppoised OS, that's an amazing deal if the lowest variant released internationally for same price it'd be an instant buy for me. wish they would release a smaller

If any company is using a patented technology from another company then they have to pay for it. It's not just for Chinese companies. Also applies to companies from any other country

VAT is chargeable but it is the same for all companies. There are extra tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles but not on phones.

OnePlus claimed the volumetric energy density is 23.1% higher than that of common graphite batteries. Whatever that means, but it’s at least somewhat believable. Goes to show though, many people believed the original claim of 23x (I was sceptical) just because it’s oneplus. So many people here are blind oneplus fanboys.
                Now what I still don’t believe is the 14g weight. But if GSMArena is that sloppy, it’s just as much possible that this is 14g for one half of the battery and without the charging circuitry which is usually pretty complex and comparatively heavy (a few grams) for 100W. Or it‘s like 41 grams and they fat fingered again

                              Always look for the source - Sometimes news websites accidentally or intentionally make up pieces of information that have never existed to begin with. In this case, you believed that OnePlus made an unrealistic claim even though they never mentioned the "23x" number, but it's good that you now know the truth :)

                                It kinda looks like a OnePlus 12RT to me, as in a new upgraded version of the OnePlus 12R. Even the screen and camera hardware are identical between the two.

They'll be able to give 7000 mah battery with 100w charging too in the future the same size as the current 6000mah battery on the Rog phone 7. The normal batteries on other phones are lithium ion. The world is moving away from lithium. There wont be random battery fires now.

The OP12 is still a great phone, and you won't have any issues until the OP14/15. The cameras on the OP12 are amazing and so is the rest of the specs. So don't worry about spending that much on your OP12.

                                    And yeah as someone pointed out, china variants are way cheaper because of the tax rules in China. The government subsides a lot of things. If only the rest of the world followed the tax structure that China uses, and those countries will actually be improving, and would be able to compete with China.
