For yuzu, nintendo found discord messages by the developers/testers sharing pirated rom of unreleased game, and making a paid patreon build to play that rom.

YourLocalPhoneCritic, 28 Jun 2024Why would Nintendo go after Steam for allowing Dolphin on t... moreRegarding Dolphin, that's not what happened. It's Valve that informed Nintendo of it: https://www.theverge.com/2023/6/1/23745772/valve-nintendo-dolphin-emulator-steam-emails
"We operate Steam as an open platform, but that relies on creators shipping only things they have the legal right to distribute. Sometimes third parties raise legal objections to things on Steam, but Valve isn’t well positioned to judge those disputes – the parties have to go to court, or negotiate between themselves. An accusation of copyright infringement, for example, can be handled under the DMCA process, but other disputes (like trademark infringement or a breach of contract claim between a developer and a publisher) don’t have a statutory dispute resolution process, so in these cases we generally will cease distributing the material until the parties tell Valve that they have resolved their dispute.

We don’t want to ship an application we know could be taken down, because that can be disruptive to Steam users. Given Nintendo’s history of taking action against some emulators, we brought this to their attention proactively after the Dolphin team announced it was coming soon to Steam.

Based on the letter we received, Nintendo and the Dolphin team have a clear legal dispute between them, and Valve can’t sit in judgment."

As for Yuzu, it led to extensive piracy. The development team admitted that. I don't see how the release of the successor of the Switch will make handheld PCs sell much better.

It's very clear that Gaming phones & or handheld PCs such as the Steam Deck are going to be troublesome for Nintendo.

Don't get me wrong, they'll continue to sell great but more people this time around will be looking at alternatives. When the Super Switch 2 gets released, I bet handheld PC sales are going to skyrocket.

I'm not sure what you mean by new products usually have less fans. Every product is new when it's released. The Switch was new in 2017. If you mean first-generation products, the first Nintendo console sold over 61 million units. The first Nintendo handheld console sold over 118 million units. Nintendo hasn't always been successful. The Wii U is one of the biggest failures in console history.

Just because ROG Ally, Steam Deck and so on look like a console and act (Steam Deck OS) like one, doesn't make them a console, and so they are not rivaling that market in any different way from regular PC market.

That doesn't make one better than another, I like my Deck and stationary PCa lot, but I also use my Switch, and in the past systems like 3ds or PS Vita.

Same with PS4, PS5 and so on.

On the average, 2 months of the Switch sales are about the total sales of the Steam Deck. Now the main competitor of the Switch is the PS5. Don't expect companies to tell you that their products are failures. The MSI Claw is obviously a massive failure. Of course, MSI won't say that.

                Great! Native video sharing soon?

I opened up an issue on this; I got a lot of nay-sayers on the matter, but now knowing that Valve is seriously considering video recording on Steam Deck, it may be coming after all.

Switch was released during covid ig and new product ususally has less fan.
Nintendo has so many exclusive while switch games can be played on pc.

I'm not sure if the Steam Deck sold 3 million units. As a console, the Steam Deck is a massive failure financially. Obviously, Valve won't admit it. The Steam Deck OLED is a decent handheld PC, though.

Nintendo Switch 2 will have a hard time competing with the Steam Deck LCD & OLED models. Valve's handheld is way too good. It even made gaming phones useless! Gaben for the win.
