HatingEqually, 17 hours agoMajority of physical books that I got, be it novels, comics... moreYes but they are closer to aspect ratios like 2:3 or 3:4 not 9:16 (when viewed in portrait orientation). you are free to measure yourself the size and aspect ratio of every book, publication,or document you read and you will see for yourself that they are closer to 2:3 and 3:4 ratios. this counts for every book and document size used globally to date. did you even read my comment before replying? lol

        MindTheGap, 29 Jun 2024As someone who mostly used a laptop, squarish aspect ratio ... more"just doesn't looks good for web browsing, reading". this just doesn't make sense. all standard web pages you have to scroll up/down to read. how is a narrower aspect ratio like 16:9 better than 3:2 or 4:3 for scrolling down? this is exactly why so many laptop manufacturers have switched to 16:10 for more height, because of all the productivity work that revolves around the web browser now. as for reading, do you not know that the standard document and book page size are all more square than 16:9? i just looked up the most common sizes of books/ebooks/epublications and all of them are more square. so even for reading (which would be vertical orientation), 2:3 and 3:4 are way more suitable.

        Mass-market paperback books are 4.25” x 6.87"
        Comic books are 6.625” x 10.25.”
        Textbooks are 6” x 9” to 8.5” x 11.”

        you may say you can't get used to squarer aspect ratios but if you ever read a page in any physical or digital book ever in your life, then you've already done it without realizing.

              Now, Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is the sweet spot for any device. I will buy one of these when it comes out...

                the Android OS and iPadOS so far only support simple UX, not complex UI for complex work.

It just doesn't looks good for web browsing, reading, watching, gaming, and almost anything. It's like doing most tasks on your photo frame (an expensive photo frame, I should say).
                  An high-end tablet is supposed to be a laptop replacement, not become a whole new kind of device for different functioning.

                        Ipad feel natural in hand compared to android tablet. Most android tablet especially that have 16:9 or 5:3 will have a long & unbalance frame. I really dont like those when holding. Plus the weight distribution is mess up .. So I dont mind the black bar when watching video or movie on ipad. Btw Im pretty sure most ipad does not use 7:5 aspect ratio.

Especially since tablets (of all kinds) have become very popular with the college and grade school age groups for being lightweight and easy to use during classes and then for web and media consumption after. YouTube and TV are now only a few of the many reasons people buy tablets. they are a good in between for those that don't need a laptop but want a computing device for productivity.

                            Would love this in a 9". Anything above 11" is just another laptop.

                                  16:9, 16:10 has been the norm for. Laptops, tablets etc and i feel its far better for both media consumption and work.
                                  Can't buy these tablets just because of the aspect ration of screen. other than that, it was a good tablet for the price.
