DeepIn2U, 03 Jul 2024Scummy company lol.
Samsung is not trying to be your fri... moreWelcome to late stage capitalism and corporatocracy, where we have to choose an option that is the least shite among a big bunch of shite ones. Yes, I think Samsung are scummy and are absolutely not my friend. So is literally every other big company.
What I did was simply give credit where credit is due. Nothing more.
I just weigh my options and go with whatever product I think will give me the most years, because planned-obsolescence is a thing, and I absolutely need a long lasting smartphone for work and other reasons. I both know and don't care that this company may not give me the best specs or performance or fastest charging or whatever. I choose their products because they tick some boxes for me. And if another company came along offering me the same advantages, I'd gladly move on to them.
I'm not going to shy away from criticizing a company even when I do purchase their products. Because this hellscape of a world forces us to participate in its system. There is no ethical consumption to be had here.

I can't comment on other nations, since I have heard some absolute horror stories about Samsung customer care in the US and Canada (though, when it comes to the US, that is just par for the course for that corporatocracy). However, where I live, they have the best (or at least second best) customer care and are number 1 in parts availability.

Raghuvarv, 02 Jul 2024Samsung has issues with their devices. And they are indeed ... moreScummy company lol.
Samsung is not trying to be your friend they're a business entity eoth lots of subsidiaries.
Yor first paragraph shows pure meorion, yet your seconds paragraph contradicts your emotional attachment to the company "scummy"
Clearly by your anecdot they make quality products. Nowhere in the industry does it say use thr latest tech in e rry component every year.

Raghuvarv, 02 Jul 2024Samsung has issues with their devices. And they are indeed ... moreI agree with this. My Note3 is still here and when I checked, it still works! My mom is still using my old S21 Ultra and my father-in-law is using my wife's old S21 Ultra and they are still working fine and not laggy. Their old phones (cheaper A series are still working fine too!). I am saying this as a Galaxy/iPhone user who is considering getting an iPhone as my next phone (currently using S23 Ultra). Galaxys and iPhones are very reliable fast enough that we are at the point where we longer consider to replace our phones every two years.

Anonymous, 02 Jul 2024Very true. But ads will return the money. Not a big deal fo... moreIf said flip or fold would be so great it will sell on its own like a hotcakes no need for ads.
Just look at Elon Musk Tesla cars. Most sold EV Vehicles and you wont find single Tesla AD anywhere in the globe.
Ask your self why???
Good things sells on their own. Family and friends will do the positive advertising by recommending said device which they are satisfied with.
Once people arent satisfied with something no AD will help no matter what.
Just like with movies in Cinema.
Dune 2 were a big hit massive with tons of advertising everywhere at start of the year.
Then inside out 2 came this may or june with not so much advertising and beaten every single movie up to Avatar 1 in sales.
Now you can guess why,
With upcomming minions will be the same.
Good things does not needs advertising they are so great they will sell on its own.
And people will work better than advertising if they will like it they will keep buying and promoting talk about and reccommending said device.
No other advertising yiu will ever needs.

Giving those money to the poor would do a lot better job than promoting faulty device with laughabble durability, big crease in middle and zero GG victus on main screen scratchable by nail as always since first generation no durability improvements in main screen.
Apart the bigger price there is nothing new and worth to pay that much.
Any bar phone do a lot better job.
Even the A55 or A35 would be a better buy than a 1300 eur flip or 2000 eur fold.

FatShady, 01 Jul 2024maybe if they didn't waste billions on these useless a... moreSamsung has issues with their devices. And they are indeed overpriced. Those two aspects are without doubt. Samsung is indeed a scummy company.
However, their products are absolutely not fragile. They last. Even their wired headphones will last longer than cheaper brand phones.
And I'm not even kidding about that last one. I still have the wired headphones I got with my Galaxy A51 in March 2020. They still work. The play button is giving me some trouble, but the volume buttons and the sound are still more than fine.

maybe if they didn't waste billions on these useless ads for their overpriced and fragile crap, they could've reduced the prices by a lot instead of raising it AGAIN!!!!!!
