Between my last phone which was the Optimus G on sprint, and the Galaxy SIII before that, battery life on the G was superior to the SIII. It also had a quad-core processor vs the SIII dual-core. If it wasn't the AMOLED display, then what is it?

No way LG! The optimus launch might be true but the Nexus part I doubt it. I owned N4 now and let me tell u the hardware is a fail!
The $350 price in US is fair but if you wish to buy it from another country, LG will charge a high price and very expensive parts & labor so forget about anything LG!

AnonD-61409, 10 Jul 2013Thank you for your reply. Although I'm happy with my Ra... morei am not a collector but a heavy user for sure. i have used iPhone 4, S4, 4s, 4, S3, S2, 3gs, 3g and of course LGO4X HD. Outdoor picture of LG is tough to beat. thats even comparing to S4, which I must say is terrible phone. LG could improve software but personally I will pick any phone that has replaceable battery and external memory card no matter what the battery size is.

i personally prefer durable plastic over metal (i.e., HTC One or iPhone 4s) they seem like a brick in your hand. you could not buy a phone as cheap as LGO 4X HD for $265 dollars unlocked. how can you go wrong (its body plastic seems rich even compared to S4). volume rocker seems to be lose after 6 months use but hardly any phones last more than a year to begin with. taste and technology get better of me.

anyway, i am not an expert just a heavy user, unless rooting qualifies me as an "expert". i read forum to understand what people write to gain knowledge about a particular device. every manufacturer wants to build phones that i can hardly hold. i don't want to play games. some you tube videos and mainly business i don't see why we need a 5.5 inch behemoth but again thats personal preference.

4.7 inch phone for me is perfect size after that its a brick!

G2's 2700mAh is very enough and LG did optimized it to make it more longer compare to competitor.

Most of us guys love our gadgets and we treat them accordingly. Girls on the other hand use mobiles as a communication and information tools. I've seen them abuse and toss their phones without much care. LG looks delicate but if they could survive in girls hands then they are good enough for me.

Although I'm happy with my Razr i I'm looking for a big screen smartphone this time. I can't say that I don't like G2's desing, so I was interested in a experience with another LG device in terms of their built quality and toughness. Can you write a bit more about that? It may be a general question, but that worries me, strangely.

My fav (big?) devices so far are: Xperia ZU, LG Optimus G2 and Lenovo K900. I find the Xperia ZU lack of the LED light quite frustrating, ha :( I was almost decided for it, now, I'm still waiting to see.

The Lenovo K900 is the potential winner so far, but it's quite annoying the lack of official announcements regarding int. availability. Right now there is a fine int. ROM already, but it's too expensive to import it to my country; Peru.
Lenovo is too slow, what a pity.
Anyway, I'm still waiting and new and pretty devices are showing up. I guess I'll take a good look to Note 3 too, its unique features are quite interesting, don't you think? If it wasn't for its boring desing imo...

All I want is a beautiful looking, durable and super powerful device, future proofed. Ha Cause I'm not a collector. What about you?

                      - L.

I think the 2,700mAh is also good enough for today'standard.

I really like its beautiful Design in black and silver colours.

                          Great job LG.

Guys, don't fight about how smart phones looks. Every people has a different taste, respect it! Maybe for some people the Optimus G looks cooler than the S4 for example. Maybe for some people Sony phones are attractive.
Anyway, I think the G2 is going to rock, and beat the S4(a Samsung fan says this). If LG will add an S Voice type intelligent software assistance and some goodies which the S4 has, they will beat the S4 easily. Oh, and I forgot the removable battery, and good battery life(which is good at the current LG phones)

This is a good looking phone most people said that.
                              Better accept the fact.

A 3000mah+ battery is still possible with the Nexus 5. If they make it a non-removable battery it will give them more space to put a larger capacity battery in. The Nexus 4 had a slightly different body style when compared to the Optimus G that it was based off of. Still a lot of room for modifications. And don't expect it to have a microSD slot either, cuz it more than likely won't.

If only the phone dimension and screen size remained closer to that of Optimus G....we already have the G pro. G2 is almost identical to it. We (at least I) need compact phones with more power and features cuz at the end of the day its a phone and needs to be conveniently portable unlike the G pro and galaxy Note type devices.

I really doubt that the next Nexus will have a 5.2 inch display and still be kept at $299. So this definitely not going be the next Nexus unless Google raises the price.
