No thanks, I'd rather stick to my current phone.

OpposedScroll75, 04 Jul 2024Guess who made that phone for Google? Huawei. Yes, they ... moreNot just Huawei, it was manufactured by Sprocomm under supervision from Huawei. Hence why they have a personality over today's giraffes with similar fronts, disappointing backs.

DBS, 04 Jul 2024" will also offer a small Pro model" Which is ... moreNot a surprise why I have no options to upgrade/ replace my Nokia 8. All of the phones today are either too tall or too heavy for my liking.

Not to mention, the increasing compromises with every successor to a particular phone model. Same thing with 3.5mm jacks and MicroSD slots being phased out with the lack of options for those who appreciate it.

That has to be fake, it looks really bad

I remember it looking better (and less cheaper) than it did in the video.

a quick google search will easily show you the new pixel series is manufactured by foxconn, not Huawei. this political propaganda is getting out of hand

Huawei. Yes, they made that phone.

Just shows how good they were back then and how good they would be now had the whole US fiasco have not happened.

I loved it so much and the visor really gave it a unique design in those days. Maybe this is what Google is thinking about now ? The huge downside with 6P was that it had Snap 810 and after filming 4K videos, you could bake eggs on it

Changing the shape of the pixel camera visor is a huge mistake imo. That visor make them easily recognizable and standout from the crowd.

pricing strategy of pixel phones is not good. They launch at higher price, give discount through bank offer, gradually reduce the selling price too. In India, Pixel 8 was launched at Rs 82,000/- and also given 10,000/- instant discount. but now the same is sold for 56,000/- including bank offer. Instead sell the same for 60,000/- from the first day of launch where they can attract more buyers.

                                Translation of the video:
"google pixel on the steps of the iphone"
"apple should just make this camera Vertical for the iPhone 16"

It looks like they just stick the camera island into the chasis.. Lol.. Also somehow it reminds me of Nexus 6p

Anyway Xiaomi did better in the past in term of "stick camera island" design. Example redmi note 10 or mi 11 lite. If you look closely, they design it to a fine detail.

" will also offer a small Pro model"

                                    Which is still ridiculously oversized.
I remember when the rumours for the iPixel 9 Pro pointed to it being 6". That was as close as I ever got to being remotely interested in these failed Google attempts at copying the fruit phone.
As it is, I have no interest in it whatsoever. It's still just another oversized phone without BASIC features, and to add insult to injury it runs on Google's featureless garbage version of Android. Pass.

But you are right though. By going with this design they're making Pixels more similar to iPhones. There are gonna be those groups of people, especially Apple users, who will start blabbering nonsense like "Google couldn't come up with anything original" or "this is an iPhone clone", yada yada yada.
