Anonymous, 05 Jul 2024Red magic phones usually only good at 1 task, gaming. Every... moreSame user who rants again and again. Your ROG Phones are overpriced, motherboard dead issue prone as well as software brick prone devices.
RedMagic has these MANY ADVANTAGES:
- Has Under display unterrupted display
- Has bigger 1,000mAh more battery at 6,500mAh
- Has Console mode that can project wired/wirelessly on widescreen with control mapping and upscaling resolution features as well. ROG Phones DOESNT HAVE THAT.
- RedMagic has bultin COOLING FAN.
- RedMagic doesnt software brick via software updates.
- RedMagic is super affordable and build like a tank.
- Aesthetic and design alone, its already a win for Redmagic.
- Your ROG Phones folds in half, has ugly thermals

First phone to use 8... moreThey meant first "gaming phone" to use the SD8Gen3 leading version as only them aside from Samsung used it now. Dvmb.
Secondly, they're using UNDER DISPLAY camera not popup camera. Jeez. Your IQ level is 1/10

WhoCares, 05 Jul 2024Had been a fan of gaming phones, especially RM. Tried ROG 7... moreI've never encountered much bugs on my RedMagic devices starting from my RedMagic 5G, 7SPro and my now current 9Pro.
Just an FYI, I was a former ROG Phone user. I Had the ROG Phone 3Strix, 5S and 6D. ALL HAD MOTHERBOARD ISSUES after just less than a year of usage. While my 6D also had software bricking issues on several udpates brought by Asus. NOT TO MENTION ASUS' POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE that charges overpriced for several motherboard reballs only for it to reoccur repetitively.
I NEVER EXPERIENCED BUGS NOR BOARD ISSUES WITH ALL MY REDMAGIC DEVICES. Aside from being affordable, its UI super clean and bloatware free, has console mode too not found in ROG Phones
RedMagic updates its devices very well too. My RedMagic 7SPro already received 2 updates this year which added security patches and Gamespace features found on the latest RM9Pro.
Your ROG phones are just overpriced fragile devices not even built like a tank like RedMagic does.

WhoCares, 05 Jul 2024Had been a fan of gaming phones, especially RM. Tried ROG 7... moreYours is an interesting food for thought, but it doesn't take one thing into account;
- The Bug is common to all brands and all products, especially smartphones of recent years.
As an active user of RM9, I have encountered very few bugs in about 7 months of use.
The version I use is the official international one, therefore Android Vanilla and without the various bloatware that characterizes most of the other brands (including Asus), updated with its patches and to version OS9.0.13 - April 2024.
Overheating?
This device is a tank even at 75 degrees centigrade (measured on an Adreno 750 GPU operating at a constant 900MHz).
The secret is in the type and topology of the structural cooling. (the fan is a significant plus, it dissipates a lot of heat and maintains a constant CPU range of around 2.4-2.7Ghz.)
Sufficient for any type of prolonged computational stress. (obviously, you will have to equip yourself with an external pad for those games and emulators that are more demanding in terms of computational stress and heat dissipation)
A FACT, as to date, there is NO device that can do the same. (unless you spend tons of money on ridiculous external cooling systems)
The proof of this fact is this same intervention of mine after (I remember again) 7 - Seven months of massive use of the device (constant retrogaming emulation)
As far as everyday use is concerned;
- telephone
- wastapp, instagram, browser, etc.
- excellent reception, for a gaming phone
- Consume!
A FACT, as to date, there is NO other company that opts for a battery of the capacity of this device, which guarantees effective and long life.
Finally, the aesthetic aspect, as, FINALLY, it presents a line that is not tacky to the eye.
Therefore, the facts exist and persevere, because they are pragmatic.
RM is, in FACT, the only device on the market today with an Android system that can offer an almost full experience in squeezing the hardware resources of a SoC like the Snapdragon 8 gen 3. (which in itself is already an oven!)
And then there is the most important FACT;
the ROG = 1400 bugs
the RM = 650-750 bugs! (for the "basic" version which is already sufficiently complete for an optimal experience)
If, however, you are looking for Modding with this device, then forget it (I come from many years of modding and I know a site like XDA), but I can guarantee that already as it is, it offers everything you need for a good full gaming experience and the ' classic use that can be made of a telephone.
So, for those who don't often change phones just on a whim of the moment, and for those who simply come from other brands and are looking for a good, reliable device for gaming in general, it is an absolutely recommended purchase.
Everyone else, wait for the RM10 and the SnapDragon Oryon. (aka 8 Gen4)

Had been a fan of gaming phones, especially RM. Tried ROG 7 and RM 9 before. Have experienced pretty much bugs from both phones like daily life. If you don't like bugs, and doesn't have the urge to fix, or mod. Please get your hands and yourself away from this brand and the webs about this brand. You'll either ended up trying 1 like I was, or keep using the phone and say what the people say, and tells that it is a fact while it can not only be a fact, but in my point, an opinion. I like RM, because of how good it looks, and the extreme performance on games, even simulators, and emulators. Daily life usages is not an issue, and 1 fun thing bout it is that, you can put as much widget from 3rd party to the phone and still experience no lags, until, you started a gamer and go back to home. There goes laggy buggy.
As for ROG, get your hand off it is the best I would say. Even if you want, buy ROG 8, might suit you even more, since it is more into daily usages and light games. And the bugs are not any lesser than RM. From light to dark, you'll see pixels and some lags and delays in the animations like 120 to 60/50fps. And the system updates... Better not try it, it either makes your phone to go the same 888 route, as the fire dragon or becomes a rocky phone, lag as fk. Only a flash reinstall of older version works. But 1 thing I like about ROG 7 is that, the speaker is top notch. Gaming feels more like a cinematic game with those 2 stereo speakers.
Before ending, remember that nothing is perfect, just get what suit you, if you don't like it, change. Speak make no use. No matter how much you speaks badly about a brand, it will not discontinue, or go bankrupt. It will still going on and continue. That's it.

KAVELAB, 05 Jul 2024Probably a weird translation from mandarin. Anyway, I think... moreIt's not a great idea to buy a new generation of a product especially when a huge change is done, better to buy the last generation, in this case, 8gen3, when you buy 8gen4 you're basically signing yourself off to be Qualcomm's tester for the orion's cores something, I mean , the performance gain is indeed big, but it's better to wait when all other aspects catches up to it so you won't encounter problems

KAVELAB, 05 Jul 2024Probably a weird translation from mandarin. Anyway, I think... moreThe leading edition is a great starting point for a gamer. Heck, I'd recommend to start with the X6 pro.
But anyways, since SD said the price of the Gen 4 will be more expensive, this might be a good buy.
Especially in a few months when the price will drop.

Red magic phones usually only good at 1 task, gaming. Everything else is mediocre, such as display, which lack of brightness and HDR support. This makes watching movie not as fun as on ROG and IQOO phones, the only redemption is punchhole less selfie cam. Software also quite mediocre from awkward translations and uncertain software support.
