Adding AI to a phone doesn't make it a good phone, so it wouldn't really be a massive upgrade. Moreover probably a downgrade.

idk why my iPhone 14 Pro can't do AI features when the 15 will be able to, same processor, basically the same spec. They're just tacking on walled off software features to drive people to upgrade iPhones that have nothing wrong with them to keep making more money. Won't be buying an iPhone again. AI is nonsense.

Well Microsoft banning android phones in china will help with the sales /upgrades as well

            The whole article sumed up:

Apple will create a demand that doesn't exist yet, for something that nobody needed yet and people will pay for it because of peer pressure (if the others have it, I need to have it too).

AI is just mansplaining. Confidently vomiting words about a subject with no basis in reality.

This bubble is almost as bad as when they were putting "Net" in front of everything in the early 2000's and watching stock prices skyrocket with no business plan.

No AI coming to the iPhone 7? Instant fail, Apple doesn't care about the people.

Just bring 1-120Hz refresh rate on the base model with larger user-replaceable battery ( ~ 4000-4500 mAh) and turn the island into a holepunch (even better, UD camera).

                  There done. The perfect iPhone.

AI paid subscriptions will happen. It's their new gold mine to rip money from consumers.

AI features are useless for common man unless it handles all the activities by itself! Except very few use cases this AI is of no use for common man in the real world! AI may be useful in code generation, medical prescriptions, e-commerce dynamic pricing, traffic predictions (that too depending on many factors), weather predictions, some assertive details (not necessarily correct) etc…it may look good. But common man need not invest heavily on the hardware or the infrastructure. It only going to serve the bigger sharks to mine the data from various devices.

i dont like paid function from Apple.

the fone is just an empty can making loud noise,
many functions still need to pay.

now is it want to pay for AI while collecting the user data?

                          Holy Cope Batman!

What's stopping anyone from going to ChatGPT's website right now on their iPhone, iPad, Macs, iVision(lol) and doing the same thing Apple expects their users to do with the next gen release? Hell, I wouldn't ever use ChatGPT on my iPhone 14 (or on 16 if I upgrade), unless they paid to do so.

Whole thing stinks of Apple's 5 alarm fire-fighting attempts, to convince shareholders that their company is doing "A-Okay!". Vision Pro tanking so spectacularly (like everyone expected at that pricepoint) was a huge blow to this company's ego. This OpenAI BS will drive another nail in. Users might use the AI stuff for free, but to pay a subscription for AI hallucinations in the current state? Yeah, that's not gonna be a dependable revenue stream chief.

                            Lololololol

Fact #1: Most normies don't really care about AI, beyond the occasional Facebook Shrimp Jesus.
Fact #2: AI developers (OpenAI, Meta, Claude, etc.) will not allow Apple/Google to become gatekeepers. Whether this means they successfully fight back against the app stores or train their users to use their website directly is yet to be seen.
Fact #3: At this point in time, no one buys iPhones for their features. People only buy if they think they need a new one and looking back at #1, they don't and won't.

Literally no one expects paid subscription for AI.
But there are at least 2 out of 2 apple fans in my family expect to have iPhone mini released.

So we have to expect that they will release another ai chatbot/scam using internet data but only available using their newest chip in Iphone 16?
