xPandamon, 10 Jul 2024The results I saw generally confirmed Samsungs estimates. I... moreMost people tested at 50% volume or a normalized volume that most people would actually listen to. 50% volume outside is just not it. You can listen to that at home yeah but not outside and I don't necessarily prefer any one over the other but I prefer IEMs at least because of my current one. I can wear it 10 hours or more a day and not feel too bad but my over ear headphones used to make my ear hot so I took some 5 min break sometimes. The IEM just disappears in your ear, small thing yk.
idk man, the battery health on my phones have been the same for a long time so I think it's just how I use my phone ig. I'm outside a lot and have to use data a lot so even from the start I had to charge twice a day.

fro0st, 10 Jul 2024Lmao, it took another brand 2.5 years to implement dual dri... moreI was considerin Enco X3i since Buds 3 Pro adopt the same design... Without the same codec support 😬
It's a nice evolution but sadly, design wise, it's without me, sorry Samsung.

Also yeah I also listen to a lot of music, but if I listen to music for that long at once, I prefer Overears or speakers over earbuds. I don't think it's that bad for the battery either, battery technology constantly evolves. My S23 Ultra has 93% battery health after 1 1/2 years, mostly because I use my phone a lot so I charge it a lot and battery health settings were not as good before OneUI 5.1 arrived. Nowadays it hasn't budged even a single percent in months, my battery health is perfectly stable

Everything is alright for me. But that transparent case is no go. Never bought a transparent device.

xPandamon, 10 Jul 2024I agree with the need for better Codecs, but the battery li... morefirstly, Samsung doesn't underpromise, numerous outlets have shown the previous buds barely reach their reported battery life. secondly, you need longer battery life not just for a single sitting but also because the battery will degrade, fast. my phone has like 80% of its original health or something, that's what it feels like at least, after a year and a half of usage, got the S22 Ultra back in oct of 2022.
Finally, listening to 6 hours at a time isn't crazy, what's crazy is listening to stuff at extremely loud volumes. But regardless, none of it even comes close to what damage a person can face in a concert. So why are you so concerned? A person can just listen to 10+ hours a day with a 2 hour battery life, would their ears be worse to you? And besides, what about plane rides or bus journeys? Sometimes I like to just listen to songs on those trips and sometimes I like listening to calm tracks and sleeping/napping. Is that wrong? And yes, ik over ear headphones have huge batteries but they're huge themselves and need to have a seal for ANC so your ears would get hot, I completely prefer IEMs/in ear headphones.

I will not be replacing my Galaxy Buds+ for a while...
The Buds+'s 11 hour battery life should be unique.

fro0st, 10 Jul 2024Lmao, it took another brand 2.5 years to implement dual dri... moreWhile agreeing with you on the codec topic, I think you're mistaking if you think that Samsung implemented planar as well.
Samsung has been using double driver configuration since buds pro. Second driver is also a dynamic driver(6mm tweeter).
Meanwhile, the others claim to implement planar. I don't think they're really true planar. But they're not dynamic drivers as well.
I have realme buds air 5 pro and it also has that miniature planar they talk about. It rather sounds like a piezo driver to my ears. Definitely sounds more resolving in the ultra high end than buds pro/buds2 pro. Would be nice to watch smb dissecting those.
Another interesting one was creative aurvana ace 2. Implementing xmems drivers with a big dynamic driver. I didn't like the comfort and the ridiculous app. So returned.
Realme really did a good job with the buds air 5 pro. Less than half of the price and delivering. There reviews claiming vivo's latest tws with aptx lossless doing a great job. Didn't have opportunity to try though.

Jokes aside I like "blades" better than "stems" and that "Interpreter" feature sounds awesome, if it works. $250 though 😬

Samsung usually underpromises and 6 hours should be plenty for 90% of people. If yoh wear them for more than 6 hours in a row, I am a bit concerned for your ears. I'm sure they charge quickly inside the case during your lunchbreak.

Even with a stem design, Samsung is unable to make the battery last longer than 5 hours on a charge, what even was the point then? People don't need better quality they need longer battery. The Buds2 Pro were sufficient, if they had 7-10 hours on a single charge that'd be great and better codec support would've made them perfect. I don't see the point of getting a Samsung TWS anymore, I was really keen on getting the Buds2 Pro a few months ago but decided to wait for the Buds3 Pro, they look like Airpod clones now, pathetic.
