Since everyone knows the 10 is gonna be TSMC what they should have done is lower the price, a lot
Then for the 10 keep it as is, since it is not yet kbown if its good or bad
Then, if the 10 series ends up good you can increase the 11 series a little, get the 12 series on the same price lvl as the 8
And by then if you have a solid record of finally a good chip only then can you start to think of upping the price.
As is, this makes no sense
A +-350€ phone beats the 8/8pro out of the water in 90% of things (except camera but that is also not far away as people seem to think)

Google doesnt know its place in the smartphone industry

I have the pixel 8 pro and it's a buggy mess, really worst phone I ever had. Also Google keeps removing or breaking features and no one knows why. I will keep this phone and am very hesitant to buying a pixel ever again.

The same thing literally happens every year. Prices for a phone are leaked from some European country and they always include VAT. People freak out and then the real prices are announced and it's minus VAT. And a few countries get screwed over by the exchange rate.

              Rinse and repeat.

No, just no. They are using a subpar chipset that cannot compete with Apple or Qualcomm therefore have no business charging flagship prices. Maybe when the Pixel 10 comes with a TSMC fabbed chipset then maybe they'll have an excuse to up the price but until then they offer subpar performance, battery life, reception, standby time, battery capacity.

Dimtons, 12 Jul 2024Having 128GB phones in 2024 should be criminal Then iPhone is the worst criminal, 128GB for beefier price and much more to increase a little bit capacity.

Pixel 8 pro was recently 589£ ( with voucher) down from £999 on their own google store. These new phones only make sense with at least 30% discount! Or more.

Anonymous, 12 Jul 2024Remember when Pixel was cheaper than the competition?Yeah, Nexus should be revived!

$900 and you cant get 256gb? This is crazy!

Remember when Pixel was cheaper than the competition?

Lol they're gonna flop so hard. Nobody is willing to pay 1200€ for what's an obscure (to the general public) S24 competitor (which can be found for half that price).

Wtf is Google thinking? Even the base model is too expensive. It shouldn't cost more than 800€ for the 256bg version.

Google are marketing the Pixel as if it were an iPhone. That... is where they have messed up. The Pixel will remain a small, niche market phone. You cannot be greedy without a great product and the Pixel has lost its edge with a poor sensor & optics coupled with high prices on the 8 series and have been left far behind by Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi etc I moved from my Pixel 6 Pro to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and it's waaay better!
