Same design as xcover 5. GG. Half deep mine into a tank with torch on and the water goes in from the top speaker.

Once you encounter it, please remove everything like batt, sim, m. Card and dry it for days before you use again.

Mine was running fine after a few days and it dies on me. Once force open, the water is still inside and cooked the lcd connector. It will still work but no display.

Instant they will break deal or sue Samsung in court. Over 700K devices we are talking Hundreds of million if not 1b usd worth of deal, that's a lot of money in stake here, you need to provide concrete proof to pursuade me.

Also I talk both Genuine batteries and 3rd party one, check shop like Rounded.com you will see those Genuine ones.

Hemedans, 18 Jul 2024Source of what you claimed? You think company like Walmart ... moreDo notice that the "many reputable shops" only sell "OEM replacement batteries", not official or authentic batteries issued under Samsung. Even Samsung doesn't hold accountability for using those OEM batteries in phones that are officially purchased via Samsung's business site or other retailers. If you try to contact Samsung's business support and complain, you'll get the typical response blaming on the replacement part and asks/convinces you to purchase a separate device instead. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want to get involved in attempting to contact their support and get left with disappointment, whether you're representing an organization, or as an individual consumer.

Regarding the disposed devices, I've come across batches of XCover 6 Pro devices flooded into retailers, that are still under warranty, or at least have barely passed 2-3 months of use.

If you need to verify my claim of Samsung's atrocious prices for business product replacement parts and spare parts, you can simply send them an email, or raise an inquiry via their official support channels. It's something I've already dealt with the past. Do expect a significant delay, but don't expect them to respond to a consumer email, if you don't represent some organization, either.

I just Googled now many reputable shop sell those batteries around $/€20 and if you buy 3rd party one around $10. Fair price if you want your phone to last for many years.

Also All enterprise hardware end to 3rd world countries, that's not just Exclusive to Xcover, usual companies get warranty for certain years like 3, 4,5 years etc when warranty ends they dump those hardwares to middle men who push them to 3rd world countries.

Hemedans, 15 Jul 2024Xr20 being enterprise doesn't make it Have those featu... moreYou do have a valid point, but my argument here is not only the high initial costs, but also the high recurring costs for spare parts and replacements.

For instance, Samsung sells their dated Li-Ion battery, and other replacement parts at an unfair price for businesses (a replacement part would cost as much as a typical mid-range smartphone, for reference). As a Li-Ion replacement battery barely lasts beyond a year of use without bulging or signs of aging, it would be a recurring high cost towards the business, and in turn, the business that use these phones would naturally tend to buy a replacement, instead of replacing the battery.

As usual, they may be cutting costs on the spare parts as well, providing them with questionable durability for long term use. I've come across service lots/job lots of these XCover series phones, resold in third world countries by retailers (especially phone shops in my country) due to being discarded by organizations in well-developed countries. These devices are not only cost-inefficient for use, but also are one of the biggest causes for e-waste accumulation due to being disposed to countries, alongside greedy politicians that make massive commissions from resale of these disposed electronics.

If the replacements weren't expensive in the first place for this series of devices in particular, I would've appreciated the convenience of a user-replaceable battery, at least on a business-oriented device like this. I miss that feature on modern smartphones, and I appreciate the choice of removing the battery in my own phone, when I don't need it.

Batteri Voltas, 17 Jul 2024god dammit Samsung, at least use a U-notch.If Nokia used a punch-hole, 1080p IPS displays on sub-$400 rugged 5G phones, what made Samsung implement a terrible 720p PLS LCD at this price point?

60hz, 600 nits? no pool or beach? this is a joke.

god dammit Samsung, at least use a U-notch.

That back panel looks good tho

Hmm... Galaxy S5 had user removable back but with just IP67 rating, so this IP68 is actually good.

Even when we had removable batteries, let me just admit, I didn't even keep 2 of them together, and back then it was just 2200 mah batteries on a 4.7 inch screen. So, giving removable back instead of fast charging is not a valid excuse.
                      But its appreciated.

Finally, a phone for the old timers like me:- no spying stuff like fingerprint and all, 3.5mm, microSD, removable back.
There will still be accelerometer & mics without physical switches, so one can't say you're Google-free right away, but something is better than nothing.
I wish for more "normal", lightweight phones to follow this formula though.

But how did Google approve this after all?

Literally rugged A15 5G with less camera, different panel, and no FP scanner.

Yes this is proper design. Phone configuration should not be chabgable without authorisation. My children keep enable all sorts of options on my lenovo, which is bad. I want to be offline to world or not connect to bluetooth with blasting music accidently.

We'd like to see more user replaceable batteries in ALL smartphone especially ones with 4+years of software support... A battery replacement will be needed during this period.
