12mm is a thick phone to carry in your pocket, even thicker with a case. that's why making it 9mm is crucial to make it more usable like a regular phone. I wished they made it possible with flip/fold 6. flip6 got more upgrades this year compared to fold6.

Should be focusing on making it so their foldables don't break along the crease after a short lifespan.

I get that people like to argue but...
If you think foldables are the future...is making an expensive device with a fragile screen even thinner really the best design priority?
If you think foldables are a useless future-less gimmick, why is Apple going to try and sell one in the next year? Why is everyone trying to sell one? Why is Samsung selling their 6th generation if no one is buying them?

Anonymous, 19 Jul 2024No, slimmer and lighter is the right future for foldable phones. There's no future for foldable phones. They're the 3D TVs of the mobile market. No consumer demand, no actual benefit for consumers, just a gimmick for OEMs to pretend they're doing something "innovative" and distract some people from realising they're now paying over 1000€ for phones that do LESS than the 500€ phone they bought 5 years ago.

since this is samsung they're probably gonna reduce their already smaller than average foldable battery size lol

If they wanted to justify the price of their uselessness foldable gimmicks, they'd make it 3.5mm thicker to ensure it doesn't lack something as BASIC as a headphone jack.

Buddy when I read 3.5 I thought great they're finally bringing back the 3.5" sata drive. Been waiting to buy a new laptop and phone since 2012 but won't buy anything unless it has a 3.5" sata since those were the good old days. One of these days they'll change their mind unlike me and go back to what I'm used to and every time I see the words 3.5 I think it's finally happening

I feel jebaited they put a 3.5mm in the title and i got so excited thinking it was a headphone jack.... That would have been an insta buy in a heart beat.... Would have even turned me into a Samsung convert....

I dont really care if its 3.5mm slimmer, in fact it was studied that consumers dont care if a phone feels slim, things feel better in hand when they're thick...

So 3.8mm thickness unfolded. That *would* feel quite amazing.
