Anonymous, 21 Jul 2024Chinese market price, whenever they come out of the Chinese... moreNot really. You can expect the global version 14T to have downgraded SoC to 8300 but it will have much better cameras, the anticipated price is $400. And the 14T is pretty much this exact same phone but with much better cameras, $550-ish. So the global will have upgraded cameras that will of course drive the price up a bit.

The D1 Interpolation engine is said to save a small precent of battery. OK but couldn't they make the chip use a newer node? 12nm is kinda old by todays standards.

Anonymous, 20 Jul 2024That's a part of Hyperengine too...called framerate sm... morethat's the exact opposite of interpolation
hyperengine frame smoother actually lowers your fps so you have fewer drops dips and 1% because then the soc need to work less
mediatek themselves said it will gives soc a "target" framerate and yours will be pegged to it
that's why it's in "resource management engine" section, it just manages your soc clock rate, not giving you free frame rates
it's also why it's called smoother not frame generation like nvidia
                                      so for example:

                                      -no frame smoither:
                                      max: 60fps
                                      average: 55fps
                                      min: 10fps
                                      -with frame smoother:
                                      max: 50fps
                                      average: 48fps
                                      min: 20fps
                                      -interpolation (this one(
max: 60fps but interpolated to 144i
avg: 55fps but interpolated to 120i
min: 10fps but interpolated to 60i
