Samsung Messages replaced with Google Messages on the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Flip6 in the US

Samsung Messages will still come pre-installed on units sold outside the US.

Samsung's messages/alternative apps are never considered bloatware by the shills but the moment other manufacturers do it, they're quick to point out. Now the american shills will praise Samsung for not having bloat whilst 90% of the population still gets it.

    Google Maps, Google translate and YouTube have no rival, not even in Apple apps.
    I tried Apple Maps. Is good, but I need public transportation in European city, which is far worse than Google Maps.
    I tried almost all Translators (including Microsoft translator, who is the closest to Google Translate). And still Google Translate has the most accurate and close to reality translations.
    As for YouTube, well no comment, there is nothing out there who comes even close. And even if something will appear and they will get mainstream, probably Google will just buy them or something.

    The good part is, that I can use Google apps on iPhones without any Google account.

      As long as you have a Google account.
      And even if you don't have Google account, as long as you are using some app or service from Google your data is collected somehow. Even if you use Google apps on iPhones for example.
      It is what it is.

            Ugh. Hope they won't discontinue it altogether. I hate Google services, I don't even log into the play store on my Samsung phone. Too much data collection. Samsung itself isn't a whole lot better but I'd rather have one company to worry about than two.

              Not a big deal for me. My phone has 512gb of storage space anyway. Actually I use Samsung messages app now. So can install it again. Again not a big deal.

                                Yeah tbh this is more like vendor's own problem. Do you really expect that Google Message follows every single vendor UI?
                                (Tbh they kinda did on Samsung. Google Messages in Samsung looks a bit different compared to the stock counterpart.)

                                  Similar to Play Store and Galaxy Store. You can disable Play Store, but not Galaxy Store. Really really weird.

                                    It would have been fine if material colour in google apps wasn't broken of few brands like Samsung.

                                    It would also have been fine if Google their current UI design wasn't ugly as it is, I remember how it looked much better in the past (and somehow, some google apps still look fine, because google and consistent UI is a non existent combo)

                                    Not to mention how Google Message UI clashes with any other UI except stock look.

                                    The app itself is fine, actually both Google and Samsung SMS apps are fine.

                                    Maybe because in my country nobody cares about iMessage or RCS, we all use 3rd party apps here or regular SMS.

                                    But I just never cared about which app I use for SMS on my phone, so I wonder why they push Google one now while Samsung one to my knowledge does support RCS too.

                                    Also extra weird is that they do this in US only, as if Samsung had some deal with Google just there.

                                        Huh? Google Messages has been the default SMS app on all Samsung phones for a few years already. So this is a good thing by unbundling the app, at least saving some storage space.
