Sam.Smythe, 22 Jul 2024This will stop if everyone stop buying any phone that'... moreI tried exactly this thing some years ago (I think it was 2016). So, things were even less than what they are now (with the internet and social media).
Everything was nice for couple of months with my Nokia phone. Until my car broke down in the middle of nowhere and I needed to find number of service truck on internet to come and pick up my car. Good luck to do that with Nokia 3310. Lol.
I needed to phone my friend (which had smartphone). He entered on Google, searched for closest truck service company, give me the number and I call the guy to come and pick up my car. And it was something like 22:30. Imagine calling someone at that hour to ask for help. You need really good friends for that.
Anyway, bottom line, is almost impossible to live without internet and smartphones. Unless you are ready to do workarounds and settle will less.

These people are like meteo people. "Ohh, it will rain today, there are 50% chances".
Oops, it didn't rain today, oh well, better luck next time. Lol.

Really no significant changes to the user experience since iPhone 12.

potato4k, 23 Jul 2024Like most Android? LOL. Even Samsung only just put LTPO on ... moreGalaxy Note 20 Ultra from 2020 had LTPO display already. Samsung has been putting LTPO displays on their ultra models since 2020, but only then spread to the regular S series since this year. Iphone users still need to wait until next year before the vanilla iphone 17 get LTPO display.

Like most Android? LOL. Even Samsung only just put LTPO on their regular Galaxy S starting with the S24.
Majority of Android OEMs use the old model high refresh rate panels, not LTPO. Most of them are not even variable, or can go down to 1Hz.

Surely why Apple took so long to add this feature, I sure don’t need it even it’s got early in Android. Apple carefully make decision people actually utilise it or not. For me absolute don’t need it.

Anonymous, 22 Jul 2024To be honest, AOD (Always on Display) not really useful for... moreThis. Just turn it off. I don't understand for companies to gatekeep some specific features because "users don't care", just give us option to turn this on or off.

SD Cardigan, 22 Jul 2024I was surprised Apple didn't have Always-on Display...... moreIt's the same excuse they did when IOS didn't have folders for their apps. Now at IOS18, the lockscreen and homescreen being able to use the same wallpaper, and app rearranging, is touted as a feature.

                        🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Seems like the SE will yet again only have 60 Hertz. Nothing else to note either, 120 Hertz for the base iPhones is an improvement, but getting a worse chip for a phone that expensive is still a bad joke

Anonymous, 22 Jul 2024Ooh poor apple, your a trillion dollar company yet you cann... moreProbably Tim cook will remove the charging port to achieve the slim design, just as how they removed the 3.5 mm jack. Then they will advertise the wireless charging magsafe 3.0 or whatever where it charges the so called slim iphone fast and will cost you a thousand of bucks. By now everyone knows apples strategy. And following year that will be adopted by samsung and then it would become a trend. Somewhere someone needs to stop this monopolistic approach of the manufacturers.

Anonymous, 22 Jul 2024Wait for iPhone 20 series. Might get 16gb ram.And what you going to do with it? 😁
