Anonymous, 28 Jul 2024Long press the Play Store icon, choose your apps, update. You're totally right. Completely forgot about the long press thing... My bad. Although not all phones have the long press thing so it would still be nice to also maybe have a one click in the app itself. And the long press doesn't change the fact that the auto update feature (that is set on all networks in my case) does not work. It never updates any app except for some google native ones and even then it stay stuck with the message that I should activate my WiFi while it's specifically set to update over mobile data and WiFi with total acceptance of possible surcharges when using mobile data.

Why would you send notification saying "Turn on important notifications" in the Play Store?
Do you want me to disable Play Store? Huh? I think I will... Why are you also asking me to pay you for advertising my app? Aren't I already paying you when I sell one? Why are you not fair? Why are you inserting ads into my videos when I cannot earn any money because of not having enough subscribers? Do you want me to buy Huawei or iPhone?

Google store is horrible, it only promotes games with microtransactions, all the games I actually like I had to find elsewhere on the web, specifically search for the name and go trough several ads before finding the game I searched for.

This is so goofy. Widgets have been totally neglected by Google for years, then Apple adds them and now we roll back the years to 2012 where no App is complete without a out of place widget.

Instead of trying to force people to consume more (preferably paid) apps they should bring forward the app update menu which is now several clicks away. It should be a shortcut at the bottom besides the shortcuts to apps, games... instead of having to click on you profile button, then manage apps and device and finally the to update menu/list. Also the automatic update feature of any installed app never has worked on my devices although it is set to do so over any network (5G/WiFi). The latter isn't a big issue but if you offer the option it then it should work. Google tried to copy the Apple App Store a bid too much back in the days when the decided to replace the hamburger menu by the profile menu. Same shit in the App Store as in the Play Store...to many clicks before you can start the updates.

Play Store keeps notifying me about recommendations but they all suck. It's like needing to comply with ESG to make it to the recc list.
This seems to be a worse version of it.

The biggest gimmick leap since UI change in 2016, you could have added that 8 years ago lol.

Something absolutely nobody asked for. This is just more subtle digging into consumer interests to bolster consumer data to sell to Googles analytics 3rd parties.

Why would I want to see restaurants and headphone ads in an app store? Geez, and people were complaining about ads in Windows but at least those were for related software..
