If the slim is going to replace the plus & carry on the memory configuration of a non-pro and the rumors about it getting priced higher than the Pro Max would be true, then the 8gb+256gb Slim in late 2025 would likely cost £1400 (8gb+128gb Slim at £1300 and Pro Max at £1200).

    An android phone with 8mp+2mp at less than £1000 for 12gb+256gb config from 2022, about two years older than the Slim when it comes out, wouldn't really justify the Slim at its probable price for its rumored specs. Now, if the Slim would actually end up being priced exactly like the Plus it will be replacing ($900/£900 for 8gb+128gb), then these rumored specs wouldn't be that bad, I suppose.

        Mi 12T Pro with 8 and 2 MP rear cameras had price of €750 for its base variant 8/128GB. So, the 12/256 was not much far from 1000. Wgich was very obscene

          But anything over £100 that includes either or both 2mp depth/macro combo is nothing more than a cheap trick. And there have been many Androids well over that price to do it.

                I think Apple will give it a unibody metal design similar to what the iPad Pro currently has which will help achieve the slim and lightweight design. Also packaging all the components of a phone into something that slim will mean that the rumour of a single camera might be accurate. Also, having a metal unibody, Apple will have to redesign magsafe/wireless charging.

                Just my theory!

Afaik, there has never been an android phone with 2mp+2mp cameras that cost north of $1200. The slim was previously rumored to cost more than the Pro Max.

                        I like Apple do something, like Android too do a lot experimental things in the past like motorise camera, curve screen, rotating and more, like you said possibly why Apple did single camera with that thin body must be something Apple discover a new way. There’re limit, must be a new way to break those limit.

                            The way this could be done is for Apple to find a sweet spot between the wide and ultrawide lenses. We know that the Pro iPhones are moving towards the 48 MP standard for all the cameras (and so will the base iPhone 17s), so a 48 MP 'superwide angle' camera (17 or 18 mm FoV) could still do the job provided it balances with lens distortion and a practical zoom. If they could utilize Apple Intelligence for the software part, they could actually deliver on it.

                                Also there's limit to physics and tech. A wide camera cannot capture ultra wide image. It also cannot capture 10x telephoto images without losing a lot of details.

Apple has always been really greedy on the lower end models, providing the bare acceptable minimum, sometimes not even that

                                      Just because of single camera I read, most comment I read seems words is more innovative than tech itself.
                                      Maybe must be a reason why it just single camera possibly Apple discover a new way to push compact, get rip multiple lens into a single lens, possibly way better than current 15 pro series or even better than my Samsung S23 plus or current S24 ultra. I rather wait and see how it will.
