              I was waiting for the Camon 30 Pro, didn't get released where I am. I think I'll move on to other phones with Nord 4 and Xiaomi 14T being my future target (if the price is right).

G96 etc probably modem didn't change much. If they designed brand new 4G soc from scratch then it could use latest modems.

                        But that creates a new question that I still don't know the answer: What holds them to put that lte cat 13 band on those 4G chipsets? Is that band is something like "integrated" on 5G band that makes it exclusively only available in 5G chipset?

                          From Cat 1 to 5 is normal 4G speed, from Cat 6 you get LTE Advance with carrier aggregation, your cell tower send multiple link to increase speed, those phones with better modems may have as many as 4 links and something like G99 will have around 2 links.

                          These links increase speed, you may get 20mbps with normal 4G device and same carrier you get 60mbps with device which support lte A.

                          So as long as your isp has cell tower with LTE advance features you will get better speed if your phone have more Cat.

                            Also, brands won't suddenly stop using 4G just because you and a dozen people more think they should do.

                              They aren't caught in a loop, but just play with tools available.

                                    HatingEqually, 25 Jul 2024Bro forgot that not every country has a good 5G coverage. 💀One thing 4G user don't consider is 5G soc have much much better 4G modems, let's take Example low end 5G soc like snapdragon 4 gen 2 and Dimensity 700.

                                    4 gen 2 has LTE Cat 22
                                    Dimensity 700 has lte Cat 18

                                    Both are gigabyte LTE, just few years ago those speed were exclusive only to flagship.

                                    But 4G soc still stuck at inferior speed G99 and sd 685 max at lte Cat 13, no more than 650mbps and the like of G80 and T606 max LTE Cat 7 aka 300mbps.

                                    So soc like 4 gen 2 or D700 they are still much better and provide 2 to 4 faster lte speed.

                                      It appears they still don't want to lower pricing but to use old, cheap hardware. I wouldn't have noticed this brand last year werent for bypass charging.
