Anonymous, 27 Jul 2024So does that mean the Phone (3) will have a 50MP selfie cam... moreReally hoping this device gets 4k selfie video, which the sensor and chip should be able to. Hoping that Nothing won't become a software crippled mess like OnePlus Nord series where you get premium SoCs, but very bad looking and unstabilized 4k main cam video.

NOTHING just want to remain in news. That is it. 2a Plus is basically a successor of 2a but this successor came too early (in just 3 months). Carl Pie has not changed since his his OnePlus days :) Same old stupid strategy of upgrading devices within 4-5 months. Stupid release.

This comment you made really shows your illiteracy in tech. CPU clock speed alone doesn't matter much, what determines the power of the chipset is the CPU design as well as the cores that it uses,
and hey, what about GPU you forgot to mention that snapdragon 8+gen 1 has a much much more powerful GPU as well as much faster storage and RAM, I mean antutu benchmark scores are 1.3 million on average which is much higher than the 700k to 800k the expected from the dimensity 7350 in the nothing phone 2a+

There is zero point in having a 50MP selfie camera though if it cannot record 4K video, unless it's an ISP limitation, which in this case, it isn't.

If it comes with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, I will totally get it. But I highly doubt so.

I thought one of the selling points of Nothing brand was crafting concise yet complete (ideally focused on design and experience above of everything) smartphones like the old OnePlus. Looks like Pei is ruining Nothing too, now. Totally a redundant model( no proper upgrade other than the selfie camera) carrying an equally redundant chipset from MediaTek.

Plus' front camera it's been upgraded to 50 Mpix with most likely pixel binning support, the older "2" has smaller battery, slower charging, no advantage on the USB port speed. Advantages of the "2" would be the LTPO screen, which cound bring a smaller energy consumplion - and wireless charging (if the Plus doesn't have one).

My Opinion: It's not good but fair. But I'm disappointed cuz it doesn't has a SD 870. I wanted to see how potent new cameras are with old flagship chip.
My Replies to some people - 1. Snapdragon SOC Req. - That's what I have been saying but Mid-range focuses on New Chip Performance rather Camera perfection which comes at very less price.
2. Should have gone with 8300/8250/8200/7 Gen 3 & 2a Plus is barely an upgrade. - I meant when I said it's fair cuz how will people feel when they get to know that 2a is getting plus version with Very better specs & chip - devastating. I know you guys won't agree but truth is truth. It's bitter. I reckon how would 2a Plus buyers will feel when 2a Community Edition is launching in August-September Timeline. (Set to have new design with same specs. Probably Similar to stripes but in this case has 5 surrounding all sides)

Anonymous, 27 Jul 2024It's funny how people take on the little manufacturers... moreSamsung A55 got shilled heavily but sank to near GT20 Pro/X6 Pro prices in the used markets just 2 months after release.
Brand new ones still shamelessly sold at 400usd where I live.
