That's how marketing and sponsorships works. Every athlete at the Olympics got their own custom Z Flip6 in their welcome package. Samsung and a ton of other sponsors are helping to fund the Olympics. In fact Samsung has been doing this for 2 and a half decades.
You people just don't like to READ THE ARTICLE and instead head right down to the comments to complain.

The nay sayers are missing the point
First look at the images for this article, ALL are from the photographers point of view and so Samsung advertising.
The personal point of view is the selfie which we won't see until the athletes post.
Albeit the Olympics the 3 winners are familiar with each other, so you don't have to imagine what it was like, the interview will follow, one moment in time captured
I do know once on the podium athlete are forbidden from making any political statement, gesture, etc, so this Is quite possibly an exception granted by the Olympic committee that no other sponsor will be given.
So in the moment not forced? this is WE winners on the podium, and not an iPhone or earpod in sight... bliss.

I don't understand the hate. This is absolutely normal, celebrities or athletes can choose to use any brand ad their personal phone but in this case Samsung is one of the sponsors of the event! So why the hate?🤷🏾♂️

Early sale numbers for the Fold6 and Flip6 already down from previous years despite the clearly bigger marketing budget. Annual sales of Samsung flagships and foldables can be deduced from how well they sell within 3 months of launch, and lets just say, Samsung's beancounters are in panic mode now.

Team Galaxy is nothing more than a Team Loser. I hate sports but advertising isn't even that great. #TeamPixel sponsors the NHL and it's great. You don't see hockey players taking selfies on the ice even though the Pixel's cameras are industry-leading.
