Second, my phone is not even 3 years old and most importantly, not broken in any form. Why should I be forced to upgrade? My Nokia G20 came with Android 11, was upgraded to Android 13 and is still received security updates [but it's screen got flattened, so I can't use it as my main phone plus it's specs are kinda on the downside].

None of it matters because Techno has the worse software support of any OEM you'll likely encounter. I had a Techno Pova 3 and it didn't get a single Android upgrade.

I'm temporarily using Galaxy A15 4G, and it is actually able to decently handle the 3d gacha games I throw at it. Medium-ish settigns, 60FPS. Not perfect performance, but for an under 200$ device I wouldn't call it bad. Now, the phone I'm using got many other issues - one thing I'm fine with is its' GPU performance though.

Not a big improvement, but hey we finally moved on from seeing G99 in low midrange phone. Time to see G100 instead. Not a phone that I'll get due to Helio's history with games, but I know Tecno can do better.

That's why Helio G100 is a successor to Helio G99. That came first transsion phone is Infinix NOTE 12 Pro 4G.
But this 2024. I don't think TECNO's Helio G99-G100 are quite expensive. I'd rather buy the last year model instead, and the experience is much the same when used.

Helio G99 & G100 are still the same. CA 2.0 on the 4G+ connectivity (also called 4.5G) is technically 4G+ enabled out of the box.
Most TECNO phones with G99 works with 4G+ connectivity. (Except on POVA 5 do not have 4G+)
