I tried x100 series phones and the Iqoo 12 in China and I couldn't find the an option to adjust the sharpness on the IQOO 12. The camera software is slightly different. Some features are reserved for the x series. It's possible that it's there somewhere in the settings I guess but I couldn't find it on the iqoo12 anyway

That leads to worse processing and Vivo treats its gaming phones as a more "average consumer" type phone so there's more sharpening. You can circumvent the problem by using the sharpening slider, no reviewer talks about it on Vivo phones, it seems, it's in the camera app. Yet for Samsung they talk about the goodlock sharpening options. Nice.

          Video quality may be bad but I don't think the OIS of the X100 Ultra and the base X100 are the same. I think it has to do with the V3 chip again. The OIS of the X100 Ultra is a gimbal, the X100 afaik doesn't have any. The EIS is doing the heavy liftin and Vivo's ISP is top notch so they do a good job.

The IQOO 12 generally went heavier on the sharpening. For video quality as well the IQOO 12 was poor, with soft and sometimes nosiy video. There is definitely quite a gap between the two for video with the x100 also having the same optical stabilization tech as the x100 ultra

I'm just saying either the base one is bad or the Pro is so good that it makes the base one look bad. In either case the base X100 isn't that great. The IQOO 12 is a far better phone than that imo due to the larger main cam. I like pro mode shooting so the IQOO would be great if I got it. I just wonder why they couldn't just put the IQOO's sensor in the X100.

                                  Hope they keep using the IMX989 or the latest LYT sensor for their pro version. I choose physical hardware over AI enhancer any day.

                                        Hopefully they get a 1/1.3" sensor or larger for this phone. The last phone was a disgrace. A 1/2.51" telephoto with a 1/1.3" main cam would've been a better, more balanced combination.

                                        Vivo just tries to upsell to the Pro variant and truth be told those are damn good phones. They've focused on the Pro model since the X90 series and those are nearly the best phones out there. Why can't they do the same with the base X phones lol
