I'm over Pixel. Not going to buy them again on principle.
Storage limited to 512GB on the Fold, worse cameras than all the others in the lineup, using a G4 instead of something newer, still poor battery life and charging speeds, and corners so round that it's verging on a squircle.
How consumers are still willing to spend more and more on phones, I'll never understand. €2,000 for a phone is outrageous. I can pick up a non-foldable with better specs for €450.
Such a disappointment, because I was hoping this would be my next phone. No chance.

Prices for foldables are sky high + the market (us, consumers) has been willing to accept always growing prices for the smartphones, so the manufacturers are happy doing so.

For me 2200 euro for the Z fold 6 is way too much.
What kind of laptop do you get with that kind of money?
Of course they are different, but at the end no matter how big is the screen on your foldable, you will not be able to work with it like you do in a proper computer.
So, for me, it is a fancy toy that will be seldom useful for work.
Yeah, I want to have it, but while my price-value ratio is exceeded, I won't buy one foldable.

Anonymous, 01 Aug 2024"Software always gets better over time but hardware do... moreSamsung simply sells more because of better availability and brand recognition. No one buying a fold is going to keep it for 7 years either

Anonymous, 01 Aug 2024"Software always gets better over time but hardware do... moreBold of you to assume that those who bought those Samsung foldables know what "software update" means?

Jon8652, 01 Aug 2024Crazy how such huge companies like Google and Samsung still... more"Software always gets better over time but hardware doesn't."

                  Perfect closing statement.👍

This is exactly why Z Fold series with longer software support (now it has 7 OS upgrades) sold more than any of those random brand foldables you have mentioned above.

I hope the width is wrong. That is way too wide folded. Perfect width is like the OnePlus Open. Then you can still type onehanded.

Crazy how such huge companies like Google and Samsung still haven't achieved what Honor did a whole year ago. All the other Chinese manufacturers have caught on but these mainstream brands seem to refuse to improve much...

Vivo X Fold 3, Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, Xiaomi mix fold 4, Honor Magic V2, V2s, V3, V3s, all have better hardware. AI crap doesn't matter when your phone feels like a brick.

And when people mention that Google and Samsung have better software, that's irrelevant. Software always gets better over time but hardware doesn't. If you buy a brick, even if it has amazing software, it is still a brick.

at this point all foldables are thinner and lighter then Z fold series that hasn't changed a bit since Z fold 3

in my opinion, that's still too heavy to make it a phone that can be used normally. Anything above the 208 grams of my S8 Active, is. I own the Z3 Fold and ot is such a heavy brick that I've quickly started to hate carrying it around. Ot may be compact enough for your pocket, but will cause your pants to keep wanting to drop, phone needs to be lighter.

                            >Smaller battery than before
                            >thicker than a Oneplus Open when unfolded
                            >Heavier than a Z Fold5

Unless Google puts the same cameras as their Pixel 9 Pro XL on the Fold, this is another 1-2 generation old fold. The folded thickness is quite impressive but everything else is so mediocre I wonder what Google will provide that others won't. A Tensor G4 isn't a selling point it's a "don't buy me pls" point lmao
