Why? Eventually smartwatches will be thin enough to make the ring obsolete. It's ok for a bit of amusement but that's it. People with real money wear gold on their fingers so it won't even be a fashion thing.. Maybe for kids that are used to wearing plastic toy rings.

It has to overcome ecosystem problem in every case then find a system good enough to perform the task, but wait a min, if the system has to be good enough why bother for ring.
