That'd actually be cool. Maybe they're trying to make a super UW cam for large group shots that you can punch in 2x into for a solo shot, without any significant quality loss.
But still, their selfies are nice enough already, only problem people might have is the processing.
My question is why don't these guys record things in 6K or 5K and then punch in for stabilization? It's so weird that with all this computational power all these manufacturers can do is record in the selected resolution and not 1 pixel higher. If I select FHD, it's in FHD and then punched in for stabilization. I think they'll release a phone one day with a feature like that and act like it's revolutionary. As they always do. Since android manufacturers don't focus on video too much, it'll be Apple. Still tough to find native LOG video capable android phones. It's like having an AR gun but not being able to fire in automatic mode. I think only Xiaomi has that, respect for that. Haven't seen any big reviewer talk about that on Xiaomi, but nearly everyone talked about it for Apple. Hah
