Xiaomi 15 Ultra to feature a 200MP telephoto camera

I want a decent phone with a camera NOT an expensive camera with a phone. Would anyone with any sense spend several hundred pounds on a camera and junk it in 3 years? That seems to be what Xiaomi and several other manufacturers, want you to do.

Anonymous, 07 Aug 2024200MP 100mm but 50MP 200mm, weird. With that much megapixel... more200MP is good even to 16x from 4x with my simple calculation, I think they better off having this for the 7x telephoto and the usual IMX858 for 3x. The periscope need to be about 2.4cm for that amount of zoom.

What he meant to say is DCS' no ultrawide bombshell, if ICU is right with four cameras than that means it have three telephoto lenses, but if that so it's hard to imagine fitting that many high focal length lenses in the phone, especially with 1/0.98" and 1/1.4" sensors being two of them.

I have nearly only good thing to say around Xiaomi nowadays especially vs Samsung.

And DCS said "No ultra-wide angle, less than 10X, not OV50M 180mm" idk about the UW part but yeah they have conflicting post.

They also take a lot of space so I don't think they can fit both

200MP 100mm but 50MP 200mm, weird. With that much megapixels they could have 300/350mm 50MP but I guess it's too long even for Xiaomi Ultra level of bump.

Xiaomi has definitely been looking at the Honor Magic6 Pro and Vivo X100 Ultra. It'd be interesting to see if Xiaomi can give a telemacro function to it.

I wouldn't touch the xiaomi 15 ultra. If it is anything like the 14 ultra, it will have massive quality control issues such as the lens fog.

Brands have had samples of 8g4 to test even before 8g3 was announced.
Some techs take years to hit markets. Also, even if they were ready, does not mean any client has interest in buying.
Samsung Semicon will not mass produce them unless they get any order.
Samsung Mobile will not sacrifice design of S Ultra to put Type 1.0 wide or 1/1.3" periscope which would result in massive bumps like chinese ultras.
