woild love to use meego again...after years of using Nokia symbian, and wiping a tear at its expected death, i think i howled when meego died as well. After playing wiht the wp8 phone and trying to convince myself to buy one.....ive decided to wait for the mid range Jolla sailfish phone.
Hopefully Nokia will start using both operating systems in their phones, one android app compatible and the other app absent (wp8)

Nokia should never go with Android and i'll tell you why. Nokia is doing fine with MSFT and they have a plan B which is without a doubt Jolla's Sailfish OS. Android has many vulnerabilities, mostly security problems, the apps are written in Dalvik VM( Dalvik a.k.a. Dalvik Debug Monitor Server (DDMS) is the process virtual machine (VM) in Google's Android operating system. It is the software that runs the apps on Android devices. Dalvik is thus an integral part of Android, which is typically used on mobile devices such as mobile phones and tablet computers as well as more recently on embedded devices such as smart TVs and media streamers. Programs are commonly written in Java and compiled to bytecode. They are then converted from Java Virtual Machine-compatible .class files to Dalvik-compatible .dex (Dalvik Executable) files before installation on a device. The compact Dalvik Executable format is designed to be suitable for systems that are constrained in terms of memory and processor speed.

I predict Android will start to die from 2015.

Nokia should move to Android - yes, but a long time ago when everyone did it.
Nokia should have let go of the Symbian^5 and Symbian^3 (Anna, Belle) platform much earlier, muuuuch earlier, it's a really good system, more functional, more possibilities then WP. MeeGo...even if Nokia couldn't build an ecosystem around MeeGo fast enough, they should even try OHA.
Why Samsung could grow ? Because Nokia gave up and let them to do it when they resigned from Android. Nokia had a chance with Android, but they should start
with all other companies. Even if Samsung won, Nokia would be ahead of LG, ZTE, Huawei, Sony...like always. They might switch to Android and...Windows Phone, now they are stuck with decisions...made in Redmond. They can afford more, WP =
limitations for Nokia. Elop behaves as..like he worked for another company ;)
Nokia Lumia series still dont have a larger share than before canceling smartphone with Symbian, the last time it was 6 mln S + 4 L, = 10 mln, atm only 7mln Lumia series. WP and...Android/other OS = larger the market share, the more chances, more choices.

Nokia WILL NOT switch to Android, but obviously the grass wasn't greener and they should've never abandoned Meego (and in the process pissing off the diehards) They'll need that windows phone update though, and fast.

Thumbs up for Nokia, hopefully the tides turn for you. If not, you shall join the masses who hold Android for revolutionary. Which usually does not equals evolutionary, but sells better.
As a user of both WP8 and android 2.4, 4.1 and 4.2 I prefer WP8 for almost any task conceivable by my needs. It does it smoother, easier and faster. Clinging on to Android without really being a pro power user, is hardly a sign of avantgarde... in my eyes it is mediocrity.
Let's have a competition to evolve, not revolve as we have been doing since forever.
So, Nokia. It is not you who is blind. It's the customers. But in the end, it is their way...

For all those people saying Nokia should swap to Android, just some simple facts.
Motorola is purely Android and they have been making increasing losses.
Sony is purely Android and they have made 8 straight quarters of losses.
LG is android only and they barely break even on good quarters and make losses for others.
In short, Android would be the kiss of death for Nokia, next quarter, if the sales continue on their present path, Nokia will hit profits with its Smartphone segment providing very nice returns.

uma, 19 Jul 2013but nokia was late in bringing capacitive screen and gorill... moreso..they were late it using two techs so it cancels there other innovations..what a stupid logic...besides,no nokia smartphone released in last two-three years uses resistive touch....maybe you are counting the asha series,which like samsung's rex series,is for emerging markets and so both have resistive touchscreen phones.....

these new devices."...it's obvious that nokia had a hand in developing the technology,and plz don't twist the facts,xperia sola did'nt actually sense exactly sense where your finger is pointing and even then it does not respond to things like pens,it was useless and just a gimmick even according to gsma...nokia lumia 920 was the first to use that tech,it is what it makes it innovative,BTW can i ask how people say amoled was innovative by samsung,even though samsung was not even involved in amoled developement(they were not even the firsts to use oled,from which evolved to amoled).....and LG manufactured the display?so...the tech by nokia has nothing to do with a display,don't comment about the technology you don't know anything about, " The speed was
achieved by boosting the voltage",it was highest ever in a smartphone and completely nokia's idea......not like the s-pen which is just a reused concept of capacitive styluses which were available before the note.....AND nokia is not innovative anymore?LOL!!first of all both of your points were rubbish...then were you blind to the things like pureview,or re-engineering a new smaller 3-axis OIS,clearblack tech(which made their amoled far more sunlight readable than of samsung,even though samsung has a license to manufacture amoleds of their own),or plug and touch of nokia n8,etc....

Even an android phone manufacturer have started manufacturing windows phone to give the customer wider option....so u should also try...n manufacture an android phone...
