AT&T won't sell Google's Pixel 9 Pro Fold

Despite offering its predecessor and all of the other Pixel 9 models.

Somehow T-Mobile is the only bring-your-own-phone carrier in the US. If you have stand-alone 5G on band 71, you're good. You could get by on just bands 2 and 4/66 if you don't mind signal instability.

Verizon and AT&T have a list of acceptable phones. The other major carriers are resellers.

Well, I guess since AT&T won't be offering the new pixel fold, I guess I'll be switching carriers. I have the first pixel fold and I love it and have been waiting impatiently for the second to come out and now it's a big disappointment hearing my carrier won't be offering it. If they don't want to order a lot of them out of fear of not selling them, then they could at least allow their customers who do want it, to be able to have it ordered thru them.

I hate how Nokia was screwed by this one during Android 1.0 days. All because no carrier offered their devices for "FREE" for those that can't math.

Darth Caesium, 14 Aug 2024So, I checked — FYI, Canada, the UK and the EU all have law... moreInteresting, I didn't know both UK and Europe had already passed those laws. Great news for consumers.

And regarding the United States, you're probably right. It's an absolute circus there. Hopefully things will improve and consumers have more laws protecting them as well as giving them more rights and freedom.

I doubt it'll be passed though, considering the atrocious state the US is in.

AT&T probably wanted it s an exclusive but Google declined so they just decided not to sell it.

Hey Google (and Apple), nobody wants a rebranded and overpriced Samsung Galaxy phones with AI Software. Let us build our own instead.

It's not going to sell well... just like the others 😅

Even Xfinity Mobile is selling the 9 Pro Fold, and they didn't offer the original Pixel Fold for sale. Weird decision by AT&T.
