Moto (and others) keeps releasing confusing and nonsense phones because normal people don't care at all for specs. They like the big numbers and stuff, plus the whole Moto G line is confusing, making people think that higher the number, better the phone.
Some of their older phones has more balanced specs than this egpaperweight.

Basically the Moto G34 all over again. 720p resolution is a joke in 2024 for all phones over $100. The 6s Gen 3 is the SD695. Every other Moto G4x device has a 1080p screen, and the G41 and G42 have AMOLED. I'm glad I got the Galaxy A34 now. I'm sorry, Motorola, but screw your 'Hello, Moto', because some might say 'Goodbye, Moto' after this.

Nice to see everyone (including GSMA) calling out Motorola for coming up with such e-waste. HD resolution should be banned for smartphones (even low-end ones) launching in 2024. Even in 2017 (7 long years ago), I got Lenovo K8 Plus with FHD display for Rs. 8000 (around $140 back then). It is ridiculous that phones launching in 2024 are having lower resolution display and higher price.

GSMArena already doing the roasting for us.
But it could be worse. I mean the price is under £200 and its 5g so we can call it e-waste or a burner but I would rather choose this than the offensive Moto G85.
Would have been nice if it had 8gb ram which in 2024 should be the standard. Hopefully it has a headphone jack and an SD card slot otherwise Motorola is well and truly cooked.

Just had a look at some of your comments. Yeah you're right and I've said it in previous comments before. Just got a Moto G84. Job done. Can get one of those for £180. This is e-waste and should be sent to the landfill.

Not even first Moto G (2013) had a LCD with so low quality like g34. .
