Minu, 12 Oct 2024It's likely capped by the firmware, not by the motherboard. The motherboard of the S18 pro didn't include international bands. S18 is the chinese version.

YUKI93, 18 Aug 2024That's what I love about Motorola's Edge 50 Pro. ... moreDiscarding the relatively higher price and tone-deaf naming of the 50 Pro, it's also one of the nicest-looking phones released in this year, and has a telephoto too! They could've made an alternative with the + moniker, at least with a better chipset, given that the Ultra is a significantly heavier phone.

However, considering the Dimensity 8200 is quite old with older APU and ISP, one would feel one might be "missing out" when buying the V30 Pro today.

Really dig the V40 Pro, especially with the SoC upgrade. But if the regular V50 adds a telephoto camera, then no point in getting the Pro model as Vivo's launch prices are a bit out of touch with their brand. One can wait for the V40 Pro price to drop, or simply wait for the V50.

Anonymous, 18 Aug 2024I hate what these makers do on their midrangers. 🤦That's what I love about Motorola's Edge 50 Pro. It might not have a headphone jack or microSD card slot, but it's the spiritual successor to the 2020 LG Velvet 5G. Before this, only LG dared to put USB3 with wired video output and Desktop Mode support on a midrange phone. Even today's midrange-tier SoC has enough computing power for daily work. There should be no excuse for Desktop Mode to be a flagship-only feature.

V30 Pro is still a good buy, especially since the V40 Pro doesn't have USB3 with wired video output support despite using the flagship-grade Dimensity 9200+ SoC. V40 is also identical to the V30, but adding Zeiss optics should help boost the overall photo quality.

The King., 18 Aug 2024Lol. Even Samsung A Series uses USB 2.0 😉And? Just because your favourite brand Samsung uses it doesn't mean it's good, Samsung A55 also got the thickest bezel around and you'll also defend it saying you don't need better thing because "even Samsung uses it"?

LosEstupido, 18 Aug 2024didn't vivo lock the bootloader on their newer phones ... moreFor FunTouch OS phones, the bootloader appears to be locked.
I've also noticed that the bootloader isn't locked in grey imported OriginOS phones sold in our country. Only a handful of Vivo phones are officially sold here anyways.

Yes. V40 is good but not at 34999. It uses same old 7 Gen 3 which available at 24999 in same phone at V30 & T3 Pro. V40 5G needs to get pricing at 27999 for 8/128 & 8/256 for 29999 considering the recent custom duty cut-off in India as well as same chipset only added Zeiss Optics & without Telecamera. V40 Pro is impressive but at same price you get Samsung S23 which has 8 Gen 2, IQOO 12 which has 8 Gen 3 & X90 Pro which has far superior camera & X Series advantage due to which V40 Pro needs to get 10000 discount to have pricing at 39999 to compete with OnePlus 11, 12R, Realme GT 6 & Xiaomi 14 Civi which has powerful flagships 8 Gen 2 & 8s Gen 3 & some do have 8K Video Recording.

LosEstupido, 18 Aug 2024it's a pretty nice "flagship" phone, I gotta say.yeah I'd like to call it a budget flagship. It has a better selfie cam than iPhones, Galaxy phones and Pixels. If you install gcam it'll take astonishingly great selfies im sure.
